Anyone ever think of a way to use these if 22LR ever becomes scarce.
You can find them at lots of hardware stores.

Where I've seen them they cost as much as loaded ammo. The only thing I've considered is a custom barrel that fire arrows for fishing maybe. TN actually banned using arrows fired from guns or air rifles for hunting purposes. I built a couple of perimeter alarms that use 22 blanks just to see if I could.

Ad hoc modifications to ammo intended for other purposes. Pardon me if I don't join the party.

I have tried this with 30-30 and 223 before as i made a empty case that would take a 209 primer and a 0 buck shot for the 30-30 and a .22 air pellet for the 223 and both will kill a squirel at 20 yards.

    thanks

Funny...this reminds me of using 5.56 blanks in the military. I watched someone launch a cleaning rod several inches into a pine tree in Georgia while on field exercises. He thought it was hillarious...but the Chief Warrant Officer and Lt. he didn't see off to the right didn't think so. The EPIC military "be-hind chewin' " would have made military history if they kept track of such things. By the way...the cleaning rod didn't make it...we tried field pressure dressings and everything... :)

That was pretty common in the marines as well...one time someone opened up a few cases and combined the powder all together in one round, filled as much as it would hold. one guy wanted to fire it, he had the BFA on the rifle and at first he was going to aim at a tree but at the last second changed his mind and pointed the muzzle down. i think there was three of us standing around a few feet from him, when he pulled the trigger the muzzle blast blew off the BFA, it was so loud that we all had ringing ears and all thought that the end of the rifle had exploded...lucky for us it was fine. But that was the last time we messed with adding more powder to blanks.
