    I've been meaning to try this to see if it would work OK. It works quite marvelously :dblthumb:

    I used an axe and my small fixed blade knife as a chisel (it is 1/8" thick by design for rough use). I've seen this design sold commercially, made out of steel and with cooking grates or grilles. There was no reason it could not be made out of hardwood if only used to suspend pots, I reasoned. It is infinitely adjustable, doesn't take up much space around one's fire and only requires a minimum of material: one stout branch and no cordage.

    Very nice.I have done the Dovetail version I learned from a old Scout manual but this seems easier and not doubt stronger from the looks of that Dutchy suspension
