I live in a bush village about 350 miles northwest of Anchorage. I see all these meetups where all you BCUSA members get to meet up.

I would love to organize a meetup out here. Im sure not to many people would be able to make the trip but it would be great to have some members out here.

I live on a river with some of the best trout fishing around. I have a cabin to host the meet up or we could stay way up the river or even both. It would be great to meet some other members and share skills and knowlege. I can bring you to some great fishing holes, do some camping way out in the bush.

I dont know how feasable it is for folks to get out here but im hoping maybe to try and put something together. It would be a great experience for people to really get off the grid.

An Alaskan trip is on my bucket list of things to do before I get too old!! I've been in Florida for about 20yrs so my wardrobe might be lacking. Should I bring a sweater??

What an invitation - my only worry is that I wouldn't come back :dblthumb: If I could afford it I would be there in a heartbeat. I absolutely love Alaska and I have never even been there. Thanks again for the offer.

There's already talk in my crew to come up for the King run in May-June. Are you in the Northwest Drainage? We have a buddy in Anchorage but I'd love to go further north.

We flew to Fairbanks for our honeymoon. We found round trip tickets from Dallas to Fairbanks for under 450 each. It was amazing up there. Didn't get too much bushcrafting in though. We are already planning another trip.

Yeah thats too fairbainks :) the issue is I live in a village so you have to fly into Anchorage first thsts why its a little more expensive. Only way here is by plane... well you could boat but that would be a loooooong trip.

What size of plane from Anchorage to the location?

If it's one of them tiny puddle jumpers they'd have to pay me to fly in it.

I think your on to something here Aktatts. Been up to Fairbanks and Juneau and I'm pretty close so I'd be interested depending on my work schedule and enough notice. Have been thinking about a run up on the "green highway" anyway.

I'd be down. Let my wife see Anchorage, and I play in the bush. Now I just have to convince her it's a good idea.
