For members here at BCUSA ONLY! Since we all get out and see or find unusual stuff, I'm making this offer. The equipment to identify minerals can cost a lot of money and I might as well get as much use out of it to make it worth owning. I have been in the mineral business for about 40 years. My company has to do with exploration and assay work. Any member who has a rock or mineral specimen that they can't ID can get in touch with me and I'll do my best to tell them what it is. I use chemical, microscopic and some very advanced machines to do this and it takes time. Answers can take up to two weeks so its not an overnight thing unless its something I'm very familiar with which is usually 90% of the time. I will start doing this after February 25th since I will be very busy at Tucson and some southern California doings. All I need is a small sample about an inch square or so. Send me a PM and I'll tell you what to do.
