Spokane, that is. I spent my high school years in a little town called Milpitas, CA, just north of San Jose. There were these foothills due east of town that I used to hike around in. I'd ride my bike up there, stash it in the bushes and go exploring. Now, here I am, 58 and overweight and longing to rediscover that love of the outdoors. I went camping this past August for the first time in about ten years. Just a couple nights, solo - I'm divorced, live alone. It felt good. I mean, I slept in my van, wasn't exactly roughing it. But I did do a little bushcrafty thing with some branches I found. Used them to make an X to help support my tarp for a little shade. I've been watching a lot of bushcraft videos lately. Man, I really respect people who can do some of the amazing things I've been seeing. Hope to at least learn a little of that stuff and get back out there. Ain't gettin' any younger. Best start gettin' to it.
