Hello my name is Sarah... I'm new to this world.....VERY NEW ... I've always enjoyed being outdoors and camping but roughing it for me was taking a luxury tent and packing everything but the kitchen sink. In the last year I've received a reality check of what roughing it really is.... drinking out of tadpole infested puddles with a filtered straw, carrying only what will fit in my hiking pack, starting my own fire with flint and steel (if anyone's life depended on me getting it quick we would have all been dead) etc... and most importantly.. never use a knife to cut into cardboard if I want to live to tell about it I haven't always been the "roughing it" type but I'm finding it to be fun and useful for that "just in case" time we all should be prepared for. I can't wait to absorb everyone's tips, knowledge, and tricks of Bushcrafting.
