I searched and didn't come up with this topic, but I only browsed the first 8 pages of my search...

I was wondering what everyone drives to the bush.. I've seen the thread about the "dream bush vehicle" but what about reality?

    What do you drive?

Mine is a 1994 Jeep Wrangler
    2.5 inch Rancho lift
    CB
    Maxxis Bighorn tires (30x9.5x15)
ProComp 5.5 inch lights mounted on the windshield

The pic was before the lights and custom bumper

I'm fortunate enough to be able to walk out the back door. I count my blessings daily. But for a vehicle, '99 Jeep XJ.

I just pick a direction and walk. :)

Seriously, where I live, all kinds of public/National Forest are a short, scenic walk away.

    Great looking Jeep PW..

Man, I'm jealous of all you guys that say you can just walk to the woods/bush.. I have some that is fairly close, but the good stuff is a couple of hours drive away...

I saw that one Bucket.. but I want to see the real vehicles, not the "dream" unless of course you are fortunate enough to drive your dream vehicle..

Most of the time I just walk 5 minutes to a 350 acre area I frequent alot. Other times Ill drive my 1998 GMC Blazer. Its got some work done but not alot, new tires and looking to get a bumper winch but that may wait.

I'm limited to my car. A 96 Toyota Camry whose insides are like Frankenstein. A different engine with 115,000 miles on it, the body has 260,000 miles. New front passenger axle, 4 new struts, new break pads and rotors, new rear sway bar link and bushings, and she has a hole in her exhaust and leaks oil like crazy.

What I can't do with her, I have to do on foot.

I just walk out either door. These are my wheels - which one depends on what I'm doing. I have a 96 gmc sierra for the rare trips to the grocery. It hasn't been started in at least 6 weeks.

This is our Alaskan Mule-et. Temperature is +8 above 0 (F) and a beautiful day!
Those are the foothills of the Granite Mountains, part of the Alaska Range just West of our front door.

I'm right next to the Chugach State Park, so I just drive over to one of the trailheads in my 2500HD. 4x4, taller tires (285's up from 245's), and the rear axle has a locker, but the rear spring is so long it gets serious axle wrap when you try to take it though deep stuff, mud, sand, but especially snow. Been contemplating traction bars and Torsen style diff in the front axle but I haven't gotten around to it.

When I'm up in Fairbanks I take my old Ford. built 390FE, 4-speed, 4x4, and a winch. Both axles have open diffs as of yet, so the winch sees a lot of use.

In this picture the GM still had stock tires.

Yes, it is. My brother in law has one just like it. I tried his and liked it, then found a good deal on this one. It had been pampered -- until I got it.

Three wheelers can be dangerous. This one put me on a cane for 2 weeks, but that was because my 'motorcycle reflexes' kicked in at the wrong time. :58::D

Either by my Trek mountain bike or my Ford F150. This pic was taken about 2 years ago after some driver decided to run into my truck. Been fixed up nice and runs like a charm.
