I don't care. I'm willing to go where the interest is.

I know there are a bunch around Harrisburg with camping access.

Maryland would be further than I would be willing to drive for 2 or 3 nights. Even Harrisburg is pushing it for me. The further upstream enhances my probability of participating. I usually paddle the West Branch but that's a trek for you in central PA area and there aren't any islands to camp on, lots of nice campsites though.

I am willing to travel a ways. I'm thinking we could put in somewhere around duncannon. There are a ton of islands. Most have primitive sites with rings. We can obviously narrow it down when we get a few people committed to the idea.

I take it we are talking a paddling trip with camping, or am I missing something?

I'd be interested in attending if we can do one of the two middle weekends in May. I am a beginner paddler, with no canoe, so I'd be limited to those areas with a canoe rental option. I don't want to impose or make this any harder than it needs to be. I was thinking of trying to organize a trip in June as I understand the water levels are generally lower and the water temps have a chance of being warmer. I simply add this to let you know if this trip is for the experienced, I have other options.

I wouldn't consider this to be an expert affair. Just a chance to float, fish and bs around the camp fire. I don't want to concentrate on paddling a whole bunch. I envisioned maybe paddling a few miles the first day then setting up camp. June can make a pretty miserable night on the river with the bugs. I would be willing to go one of the middle weekends of May. I would like to learn to catch and process snapping turtle if any one has some knowledge to share in that regard. I would definitely want to work on some fire technique. How is everybody else for one of the middle weeks in may?

I am open to something but would need to know a date so I can plan to take off of work. May also have a friend that could be willing to go.

An overnighter from north of Duncannon is proper. Fish and float, camp out on an island and get a ride back up river the next day. I've done it once , but not organized it. Let me talk to some folks.

Got to say no to this trip. Will be at ADK Paddlefest in Old Forge that weekend. I'm not sure I want to drive 5 hours for just 1 night on the river anyway. Something latter and a little longer and I could be up for it.

That could be a possibility for me. I need to see if I can either borrow or rent a floating device.

If you're planning on being near Marysville/Duncannon, these are the guys I've used for the shuttle service. They also have rentals.
