Scheduled for 26-29 May 2017 in West Virginia near Harpers Ferry.

Is anyone familiar with this gathering? Anyone been to it?

    Thank in advance:)

Long ago on another forum, I corresponded with some of the folks who helped start this event. Have no idea if they are still involved or not. But at the time, this was a really good gathering. Don't know what has happened since then but if the event is within reasonable travel distance for you it might not hurt to check it out. Hope that helps a little.

Grizz, thanks for the info. It is about a 30 minute drive or so for me but I think my daughter and I might hop on the AT and take a day or two to hike up.

I have not been to the meet. A good friend of mine taught there a few years back and speaks well of his experience there. "Back in the day" I did spend some time with Joe Murray and Bill Kaczor who founded the event through Ancestral Knowledge and by the website, it appears they are still running the event. That is all positive. You won't find the "celebrities" there that you will at Rabbitstick in the west, but I think you will find a wide array of skills being presented at a well organized event. Both Joe and Bill are very much dedicated to bringing primitive skills alive to the benefit of youth. I don't think you would be disappointed. I think the only longer running event in the east is the Rivercane Rendezvous.
