Those look REALLY good. I went to the Turley link and was eye-balling the Mississippi Black...that is one that I like a lot.
I may be missing it but I don't see this one on the list(maybe #2)
Model #: 22 z-Sere genration 2 bolo "prototype" 1/4" 5160 spring steel reversed varied convex
Really really like...no..love this knife
Used it for all the rough outside work on my kuksa
feather stick are a breeze
even works for food prep
I will be trying to make a sere only spoon next, inspired from Kerri. I think it will a good test of using a big knife for small tasks
Great pics, rainforest.
Your knife is number 3.
It was my personal knife for a couple years, I loved that thing. I had to sell it recently so I re-handled it with the handle it has on it now, the old one was a little thin.
I'm glad you like it and it does my heart good to see it used so much. Thanks for the pics.
Thanks Iz, and for confirming the model number. I can't tell ya how stoked I am to have a knife that you actually used for a few years...gives it all the more character and sentimental value
I hope it serves you well, man.
Here is the Sere only spoon. Burned out and used a rock to smooth the inside.
Lets just say it would be allot quicker to do this with a small knife Still had fun and it was a good lesson on using a big knife for small tasks.
Great job, man. I like the sheath too.
Classic looking pic, Kerri.
look like a great knife. is this hand forged ?
No it's made by stock removal. Thanks for the kind words, my friend.
Of all the great Turkey knives this one I think is my favorite. Definitely one for the someday list. I am not even a big knife guy usually. The Air force gets all the cool gear.
Thanks, Lg! I appreciate you taking the time to say so.
You don't need a plate when you got a z-sere
Cutting dry dead oak for fire wood this stuff was HARD
Haha, "You don't need a plate you got a z-sere." Too true, bro. Thanks for the great pics!
Lol. Think of all the coin you will save on plates.
Now knowledge and cookware weigh nothing.
Very nice bolo, reminds me of the BenchMade Bushmaster I carried when I was a Navy SERE Instructor.
Rainforest showing off homemade baldric and sheath
I really like the handle material on that one
Great pic, Rip. Thanks!
Looking at the pics the next day everything looks so blue... here is another attempt with fresh eyes
Great pic, bro! Thanks for posting it.
