I was just there 2 1/2 weeks ago. You are just over an hour from me. Welcome to the forum.
I'm in Madison County, 25 miles north of Asheville and 9 miles south of the Tennesee border off I26 and Rt 19.
I am in Vanceboro about 15-20 minutes from New Bern Highway 70 runs right through New Bern. If anybody is near the area get up with me and we will plan a camping trip.
I'm in Franklin just off of 441
East side of Greensboro about 4 miles off of 40/85. 5 acres with some woods and a small shooting range. Wish I had better access to water.
I used to fish up near where the Little River flows into the New and SW of the New River Campground, near Sparta. I tromp around Uwharries when I can.

I am near the highway 40 & 42 area about 15 minutes south of Raleigh between Fuquay and Clayton.
Any of you are welcome for some bushcraft chat and some coffee.
Really, though, so many of us are in NC that we should have some events. I'd sure love an overnighter with some fellow bushcrafters, even in the winter.
Rocky Mount, between 64 and 95
Huntersville, 2 miles from 77
High Point, close to 85.
Just moved to this state from California. I live on the border of WS.
Is that "WS" supposed to be Winston-Salem?
Then, you are roughly an hour from me. I haven't gotten to go camping much lately because school, the kids, and my wife's crazy work schedule. But, I'm really hoping that I'll get to go sometime over the next month or so. The Uwharrie isn't far from you, and I just found this little park in Landis (15 minutes from me) that has a wilderness trail and campsites. It's $10 to camp and fish per "family/campsite". That's where I want to take the kids in a month or 2. It's just outside of town. I can finally get them learning something other than cheat codes for video games.
Hi. I'm new here and very green with the bushcraft.
I live around the Asheville area off Hwy 40.
I haven't done much here yet other than get the new place set up, getting animals to raise, helping create the garden and fence around it, and what not. My new job does run my ass ragged like you wouldn't believe but I figure I'll get some out door time late spring and early summer. Gonna try to save enough vacation days to do some hunting but there were more places to hunt in California than there are here without paying some extravagent amount of money to join some silly hunting club.
East or West of Asheville?
Go east on 70, take 55 before crossing the Nuse river at New Bern. Oriental is 45 minutes southeast of NB. Or come down 17 and pick up 55 at Bridgeton. Or come up 55 via the Cherry Point ferry.
I'll be on the Uwharrie Trail this Friday to Sunday. Walking southbound from Flint Hill. I'll have my Patch on. Say hey if you happen upon us!
I'm in Cary, NC.
Few miles off of I-40 and close to a few landmarks such as - Cary Town Center Mall, Kildaire Farm, Cary Parkway, Cary High School and Crossroads.
I am originally from Lexington and now live in the Apex area below Raleigh.
Looking for some good places local that I can camp and practice bushcrafty stuff and thinking of taking a trip to Uwharrie at some point when I have the time.
