So we went up for a 2-nighter at our usual place. The weather was perfect and the stream had lots of water given the nice snow we had the week before. Just 3 of us this time.

We were the only ones at the parking lot when we got there.

We call Tom "Lash" as he likes to lash his stuff to the outside versus packing it on the inside of his old Kelty. Real minimalist too as you can tell.

Had to ford the stream twice. We're not 26 anymore so we have to be real careful. We're all in our late 50's. Tom had just taken a fall coming down a hill but he was OK.

Talk about an awesome campsite! We call it "Staggamore" in honor of the world's best chili. That's our nice home made 3 tiered flagstone table we made. Survives another year.

Firewood is not something we needed to worry about.

Saw was getting a bit dull so we decided to just burn this big boy. Laster a good 4 hours.

My new ESEE3 and the Mark Wohlwend I just picked up. The Wohlwend is just a fantastic little bushie knife. Having Marcus Claxton make a new sheath for it as the one that came with it was subpar. Then of course these's the SAK.

My good ole' Estwing. Great axe and at $40 its still a bargain (with sheath!)

Dan and me enjoying the day sitting on our stadium chairs. That's my Big Agnes tent in the back and Dan's 20 year old kids tent in the front. He got it for free at work as an "award."

Our fire the next morning. Temp was in the high 30's.

What a great little stream. Reminds me a little of the creek behind our place when I was a kid up in Washington state.

My Wohlwend and the new Bushie I got for Tom in December.

Tom's idea - the chili double boiler!

LOL, the crowd found you. I get the same thing when I go hiking, I go early in the morning around 7 am, finish the hike about 10 a.m, on my way back I feel like I'm at the mall, full of people...

Happens every time. Not too many places like this in Arizona with a permanent stream. This is 2 hours from Phoenix.

What a horrible way to spend a whole weekend!! Im not jealous at ALL!! Seriously tho that's a real nice looking area you guys have! Guess I always pictured Arizona as a huge desert with a hole in the ground you could park a small country in. Thanks for sharing with us and correcting my ignorance.

Where is this? I assume Utah cause of the name and I moved to Utah recently from Oregon and am looking for good places to get outdoors like this. Any info would be appreciated if you know anywhere close to SLC.
