The third part of the project is the baldric. 550 cord.

Here is how it all goes together.

    First just the knife....

Now the knife and the Altoids tin holder....

Here are shots of the back and how it connects.

I made a dangler sheath for my Bk-16. It's not great, but I'm progressing and this is my best work to date.

My axe sheath I made recently, it was the first leather project I made. Next on my list I will try my hand at a leather dangler sheath for my Becker BK16.

A few of my first projects

    photo 1 (1).jpg

    photo 2 (1).jpg

Here are two my projects I've been pretty happy with.

The first was for a family members tomahawk. I don't normally work in black, but that's what he preferred. I plan on making a similiar one for my ax and tomahawk, but with a possible belt loop addition.

The flashlight holster was for a coworker. Mini mags may not be the best, but they are classic lights. Even though it's not exactly something I'd carry in the woods to each his own. Plus it gave me an idea about a sheath from one piece of leather.

My first attempts at leather work

I decided to try my hand at some leather work. All of these were made with very basic tools ( Dremel tool, harness needles, stiching groover, and a fork to space my stiches)

Here's my axe sheath I made it's for my Fiskar X7 axe. It's the second axe sheath and second over all leather project I made. I had to cut it and add a strap because I made it like the one for my Council Tool Hudson Bay axe but it was not tight enough and would almost slip off. I dyed it in black to match the axe but black does not look as good and the browns I have. Anyhow here it is.

My latest holster. It's taken three tries to get the pattern this close. I have a couple of tweaks yet, but this is pretty close.

The Cold Steel Pendleton Hunter Lite sheath design was based strongly on those of Ian Atkinson, who does stunning work. The Opinel #8 sheath is my original design.

The fastener for the hatchet sheath is magnetic, and works quite well, as it tends to close on its own without having to press it closed as with a snap.

Future projects will be a bed roll strap set, pipe/tobacco pouch, and a pair of indoor moccasins.

When you all make handles for your ferrocerium are you buying the rods only or are y'all trashing the gross orange handle ones? or something like that?
