Went out to try to get a few things accomplished. It was raining when I left the house and right around 30 degrees. I about stayed home, glad I got our, very therapeutic and worthwhile.

BK7 and chert, and lots of trys. Char rope I could not get to catch spark, went to char cloth and it was able to capture. Char rope works fine with a real striker.

And so am I. Rain has turned to sleet, which has turned to snow. You can see my fire smoldering out, snow is coming down, I’m packed up and headed home.

    Thanks for looking,

Looks like a great time out. I hear you on that hackberry, that is some rough stuff. Interesting setup with your tarp and hammock on different trees. Thanks for the pics!

Looks like you had a restful time. It's almost warm enough to take the baby on an outing here.

You just gotta go drag him out... Then try to keep up. I might be down there in your neck of the woods in April. I told Wayne the dates, be fun to meet you and hang out. He said your building Turkey calls, that's something I'm trying out this year.

The worse a trip goes (bad weather, gear failure, getting lost, etc.), the more exciting stories you have to tell later. Especially if you have pictures or video of the incidents. :4:
