I was wondering if anyone has bought a knife from Robert hawk. I see his ad in backwoodsman mag and thought about looking in to maybe getting one of his knives and trying them out but wanted to see if anyone here has one and get some feedback on what they think of them and maybe see some pics of the knives he makes. Any help would be great! I looked for other threads to see if there were any on this and couldn't find one so I there is one can someone post me a link? Thanks.

I feel like the notch is pointless as long as you have a squared spine there is no point in it. Other than that his knives look solid

I remember in the letters to the editor, one subscriber bought a Robert Hawk Knife and gave it a review. I don't remember what issue it was in, but you might start by looking through your back issues.

I actually have two of his knives. one with and one without the notch. The notch works great to get a pot with a bail off the fire. It as well works great for striking ferro rods. The knives have a flat 90 degree spine which works ferro rods or scraping wood for tinder. The first on I received was without the notch which was a mistake but I loved the knife so much I went a head kept the knife and ordered another one. I have put a small notch on my pathfinder knife as well and have had no ill effects.
