I'm exhausted but I hope all of you guys that were able to make it to the meet enjoyed it as much as I did.
I was so busy hosting that I got very few photos but I know some of the other guys did and hopefully they'll share them here. I definitely want everyone who wasn't able to make it to be able to see what an awesome time you missed out on. :dblthumb:

I got numerous PMs to answer but I'll be back in a bit to edit and add more details of the meet.

To all those that made it or even tried to make it I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it!!!
It was awesome meeting so many new friends and sharing some dirt time together.

    Thank You All So Much!!!
    Tim

Thank You, T.Pollock for your time, effort and hospitality! We had GREAT time and are totally exhausted!

To those who couldn't make this trip, let me put it perspective for you: I completely forgot to eat breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and breakfast this morning because I was so caught-up in hanging out with a GREAT bunch of guys, practicing/honing bushcraft skills, getting to see and handle different gear, swapping stories, shooting guns, etc. It was great seeing friends that we met at last year's event and from the Alabama meet-up and making new acquaintances at this event. It's always interesting when you get to meet the person behind the avatar and finding out that there are guys relatively close by. We're looking forward participating in more bushcraft-based events like this one in the upcoming 12-14 moths.

Thank you to ALL the guys that came and braved the mud and the unknown to make this a memorable event! Many of the guys who made this event so enjoyabe, haven't even reached theirs homes yet. I'll have more to post on this thread later- I still have to clean/store gear and get some rest. -FOM

So wore out I'm probably not even thinking straight (didn't get much sleep last night, had heartburn from Hades after stupidly forgetting to take my meds for two days) so for now I'll try to stay brief.
Brother FOM I don't know where to begin my friend... I couldn't do these meets without you!!!

Glad this was during my vacation or I wouldn't have been able to make it. I was the second to show up, causing me to endure a very rainy Friday. Can't believe it took so long to realize I had a new large BCUSA poncho in my pack! Guess it was because I bought it to use as a tarp and not rainwear.

Friday it rained cats, dogs, and frogs! But by late afternoon, it stopped! Twas a glorious weather Saturday to dry out! T. Pollock was a great master of everything. All was smooth, safe and well.

Friday, I didn't know how many would show up or where to camp. So Survival Sully turned into Stealth Sully, camping in the woods away from Hammock City. Sorry I missed the fine stew Saturday night, but my keto diet said no way. Besides I was to meet up with a friend for another night or two camping at Land Between the Lakes. Hours later while driving home, I checked my phone and he cancelled the trip! Should have stayed Saturday night!

I enjoyed checking people's knives and gear. Even learned a bit by watching and asking questions and made many new friends!

While leaving, a strap broke on my backpack. Bummer cause I had a packraft trip to Big South Fork planned as soon as I was able. But Sunday, a trip to the hardware store and its fixed now!

That gear buggy thingie I was pulling around was an innovation I made a few years ago. I didn't try it out until late spring and a wheel fell off! It needed structural mods too.
Fixed that, but from the experience I got from this meet up, told me the additional mods I need to make. Still, my bugout buggy held up to the tasks of the weekend!

TG graciously, took me and my gear back to my car Saturday night. Gracius! I sure missed my trucks of the past. I keep rechecking the road way into camp, to see if my little Honda Civic could make it thru. Musta had my thinking cap on, cause I left my car in the parking area. Too much mud for my car! Even with front wheel drive.

I will check my pics soon, maybe I have a good one in somewhere and will post em. Thank you every one!

Thank you for joining us bro, I regret that I didn't get to spend more time getting to know you. The only disadvantage to hosting a meet is that you're often very busy and there never seems to be enough time to spend with each individual person. If you got some photos I'd love to see them.

Hey guys any advice for wet/trench foot??? I got sopping wet Friday setting up in the rain, changed into dry socks but not dry boots, then changed to dry wool socks Fri. night and wore wool socks the rest of the weekend with dry boots but my feet sweat in the muck boots and I didn't realize how bad until I got home and discovered an unexpected gift of trench foot. :dblthumb:

I had a blast. Thanks for doing this Tim. Wish I could have stayed the whole time. Really enjoyed meeting everyone.

Keep your feet dry, use foot powder and don't were shoes unless you have to until it clears up. I noticed you slept in your boots, at least that first night. I bring a pair of wool socks just for sleeping in. I also had camp shoes, around camp I wore flip flops, a lot of guys carry Crocs, Tennessee had some on, I need to get some. Taking wet boots off and drying your feet next to the fire a couple times a day makes a big difference.

Was there plenty of green wood? :4: I think I brought plenty.

No tickets sold (it's hard to beat free anyway you look at it :3:) but I did have several drawings for GAWs which was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed doing them.

The few photos I was able to take are crap (just quickly taken with my phone) compared to the other guys awesome photos but I'll share them anyway.

Oh btw for others that might be interested in coming to the next one, most of the guys thought I had just a small spot of land for the meet, it's actually close to 100 acres of land. Prime hunting, fishing and whatever else we want to do on it with no rules (unlike state or federal owned property) other than keeping everyone safe and to make sure everyone has the time of their life for a few days!!!

Choo choo train of supplies for the meet, took 3 buggies tied together to haul it all out! LOL

Look at the beautiful smile (the one and only Keyser) a 50 cal BMG puts on people's faces after shooting it! :4: :dblthumb: Keyser & The 50 BMG.jpg

Wishing now that I had been able to arrive sooner. I had a great time with a great group of new friends. I learned a lot about my craft and about things that I need to change in my gear.

Tim was for sure a great host and the area was perfect regardless of the mud. It just goes to show what a bunch of bushcrafters can do in spite of mother nature to enjoy her beauty.

I am already planning for changes to my gear and for the next gathering. Thank you Tim from the heart for the great time.

Sounds like it was a good time, I hope there was enough bacon to go around. How many folks attended this soiree?

Looks like a great time by all. Food, fire, fellowship, flint and firearms... what's not to love!

Thanks brother. I'm honestly not sure, I think last time I counted it was 18. We had some that weren't able to stay the whole time though so I'll try to think back and get a final count. We had several others that were coming but at the last minute had to cancel due to a death in their church family.
