We're all a little special! Kind of like skydivers, only we leave perfectly good, air conditioned houses with soft beds and bathrooms, to go sleep outside in the elements, cook over a fire, and sway over holes in the ground! (Although T.Pollock was kind enough to provide a bucket to squat over )

Bummer! I broke a chip out of the tip of the spoon I was working on in the photos. I think I'm gonna finish & keep it as a keepsake of the event anyway! It will useable and may help me be humble. :8:

I'm constantly blown-away by the comradery and generosity of my fellow BCUSA forum members! Its been very rare that someone just didn't get along with the others or was uncooperative in general. Even when a nose gets tweaked, there seems to be a genuine humility and desire for restoration that's just not common in most of today's society- IMO.

Baby powder and open air, and clean dry socks. That's about it. Some medicated gold bond power works good. And Lotriman AF if the stuff comes to life.

Thanks bro, they're healing up nicely. I've not wore socks or shoes since I got back home, I've kept them clean and dry, used Bactine for the first couple of days and then neosporin at night the last 2-3 days. Trying to wear shoes for the first time since back home today.

Since I didn't have time to take any video this year do you guys that posted photos mind if I use some of them to put together a slide show for my YT channel? I'm not sure anyone other than those that were there would want to sit through that long of a slide show :dblthumb: but at least for us it will be a place to see all the photos without having to scroll through the thread.

    Thanks,
    Tim

ETA: I of course will give 100% credit to the photographers (if they approve) and I'll use no real names in the slide show.

I highly recommend to anyone that can to try to make one of these upcoming meets. All the folks I've met in person from BCUSA are super nice and I have no doubt you'd have a great time at any of these meets. You'll make some awesome memories. I'm not able to travel because of having narcolepsy but if I could I'd sure try to make some of these meets.

Man, where was this meet? I need to check the general forum more often. I would have been all over that if it was in the east of the three star state.

This is my favorite photo of the meet. Unfortunately it didn't work for my avatar and I lost my original one somehow LOL so I had to pick something else.

I wanted to give another big Thank You to everyone that made it to my meet! I don't want to get too sappy :3: but having narcolepsy
being able to hit the woods for a few days is perhaps a much bigger deal for me than it is most since I can't go alone. You guys being
willing to drive the distances you did to come hangout in the woods with me for a weekend of fun means the world to me!!!

DCPugh drove better than 10 hours one way Thurs night to come to the meet and met me at my house early Fri. morning. Best I recall we made it to the property at around 8:30 and got the signs on the hwy set up first thing. We hadn't much more than got into camp when we heard thunder. Before I could even get a tarp set up it started pouring rain so we sat in our trucks for awhile. The only trouble I had with the narcolepsy all weekend was while sitting in my truck trying to wait out the rain. I went out for awhile not sure how long but awoke when I heard Tennessee arrive. DCpugh also took a nap and after driving all night to get there I don't blame him at all. :dblthumb:
When Tennessee got there he insisted he wasn't sceered of a little rain LOL and said we'd go ahead and set up a tarp if I wanted. TN_Woodman arrived and the 3 of us got the big 10x20 tarp for shelter for the group set up in the rain. I really appreciated the help as after going out for awhile in my truck I don't think I was at myself 100% yet (sometimes it takes awhile after a narc attack) when we put it up, thanks guys!!! I can't remember what time everyone made it in but I IIRC most everyone came in at some point on Friday.
I figured everyone would be wore out from their trip in so I decided to go ahead and cook supper for everyone Friday night. We had hotdogs and pizza. :dblthumb: I had never tried pizza over a fire before and didn't have any type of oven set up to bake it but it turned out pretty dang good anyway. Friday for most everyone was spent setting up and just sitting around the camp fire telling lots of good bushcraft tall tales. :4: tennecedar was having vehicle troubles on the way in so myself and a couple of others stayed up till he made it in which I think was around 1am Fri. night. He's an awesome friend so he, Fat Old Man and I sat up and shot the bull and caught up some on what's been happening in our lives since last years meet until around 2-3 am and finally turned in to catch some ZZZ's amongst all the other chainsaws that were sounding off. LOL
Saturday morning I had gotten up at around 7 to water a tree and when I got back in my lavvu I wasn't all there, part of having narcolepsy is that I can get up in the night to take care of involuntary things like using the bathroom but it's almost like sleepwalking........ I'm not all there!
Anyway when I got back in my lavvu I didn't have enough sense to close the flap, so when the other guys woke up (I was the last to wake) they all got a big kick out of it because my feet with boots still on were hanging out of the lavvu. :14::dblthumb:
Saturday was filled with all kinds of fun and super cool tutorials by Tennessee and Paul Foreman. I did several GAW drawings giving away some gear and really enjoyed being able to do that for the group. Saturday evening we set up the shooting range and we all had a blast shooting each others firearms. A special thanks to tennecedar who brought some steel targets to go along with mine and helped set up the range. As you've seen from the photos he also brought along his "BEAST" 50 BMG :4: which several of the guys thoroughly enjoyed shooting! He was also kind enough to sight in my new AR scope for me and also my SIL's deer rifle scope.... U Da Man tennecedar!!!
We were having such a blast shooting that I was late getting the community meal started but I eventually got 5 gallons of beef stew cooked for the group and we feasted. Shot the bull around the campfire till late Sat. night again before turning in.
Just like last year I learned tons of cool stuff and enjoyed myself immensely!!!
Sunday was gear day and all the sharps came out for the mandatory sharps photos. The time went by way too fast! When you're the person hosting there are so many things to take care of that there is just never enough time to spend with each individual person, maybe next time the meet
can be a day or two longer. This year was far better than last year (my first meet to host) and again this year I learned a lot about how to make the meet even better. I'll do several things different for the next one the will make a great meet even better for everyone. If you missed this one you missed one heck of an awesome meet and great time, if you miss next years you'll have nobody to blame but yourself. :4::dblthumb::3:

Thank you again guys for attending my meet, for all the help and making it a huge success!!!
    Tim

PS. I also learned a huge lesson about keeping your feet dry even from sweat!!! The feet are all better now though and I'm back able to wear my boots.

[IMG]Yes they are, this was about an hour and a half ago. So much grass in the river a open hook is a waist of time, every cast is lost to grass around the hook. 1/8oz slider pro head and 3" pearl grub. Best one of the evening 19" long.

Guys if enough people are interested in having one I might be persuaded to host a late winter (after deer season but while it's still nice and cold) meet.
