Sorry Bindlestitch but I closed the original thread mostly to make it easier to read about the meet (you still get credit for starting the biggest baddest thread in BCUSA history though so put on your BIG BOY BUSH PANTS and suck it up). Now where were we? Oh right, the meet. :D People this was the most fun I have had in a loooong time and I think this meet successfully surpassed the 1st Bushcrafters' Ball in skills, barter and comic relief. In fact my whole body aches from all the laughing that went on at this thing and we weren't even that drunk.

Thank you to all of the members and their wives who participated, it could have only been possible with your hard work and kindness.

    Special thanks to:

-MoShooter and his wife for bringing us all of the goodies to make the campsite more comfortable
-Smokechoker19 (cookie) for bringing everything including the kitchen sink, keeping our bellies full, and teaching about stoves
-bindlestitch for taking point on this meet and bringing it all together as well as doing a superb job on the bowdrill class
-ia woodsman for keeping us dry the last 12 hours of the meet, doing the dishes while we sat and watched you, and demonstrating many impressive useful skills including cordage, fire, etc...
-Whitejaw for showing us how to trap without chopping our thumbs off and helping cook
-Sgt. Mac for keeping everything politically correct and keeping the camp free from flying insects with his "bug spray"
-Jaat13 for doing a great demo on snaring techniques and HAM radio
-Jaat's boy with an unknown username for helping with the HAM demo and helping us get rid of all that extra gear we had (we can properly address him once he figures out his username that he forgot:rolleyes:)
-Snow for making the journey out and putting up with all of our BS
-czbohunk for donating all of his leftover gear to bindlestitch ;)

    I hope I didn't miss anyone!

This bushcraft meet was by far the funnest time I have ever had! What a great group of teachers, comedians, and friends gathered in one place. This was an awesome experience for me and my son. My face still hurts from laughing, and I achieved more personal bushcraft goals in just a few days than I could have ever imagined. A big thank you goes out to all that helped and participated with this event. I've never experienced that magnitude of camaraderie anywhere. Smokechoker is a master chef, thank you sir for keeping us well fed. Best campfood I've came across anywhere! All I can say is, if you think you can make the next one, you better or you'll be kicking yourself in the butt afterwards, cause you are missing out on an awesome get together.I'll post some pics a little later, gotta go hang the rest of my gear to dry out!

Thanks Guys for a wonderful 4 days, was in advanced party. It is amazing how this many guys can can get together with out a cross word for 3-4 days. In fact we called each other brother most of the time. Bushcraft is truly a brotherhood that is fully brought out when you meet each other in person and basically live and learn from each other in person. I got home 1705 and went to church after clean up. will post pix tomorrow ready for bed, they wore the old man out, but what a way to go. Scavenger is a great 16 year old , jaat13 son, we all fixed him up with enough bushcraft equipment to to get him started and jammie said don't give give him anymore don't think can haul it home. Thanks to whitejaw for helping with the cooking. And Ia Woodsman for helping with clean up, correction not helping, doing most of it, again thanks IA. For those who missed it, I am truly sorry.

If you get a chance to go to or organize a meet do it. Like this pic shows Koa, CZBohunk, and Bindle have become friends for a long time.

Just got home and I still have to clean up my gear and then I'll post some pics. First of all though I want to say thanx to Iz for setting this up and to Smoke for keep our belly full. Which would explain the srange noises coming from under my tarp at times and I think kept the skeeters at bay lol. Thanx to all who came and participated. I cant remeber laughing so hard for so long ever. As for all the man loving " This aint no fag fest... my friend" :D

Okay guys I will post the few pics I have. I wish I had taken more, but I was busy learning how to carve a spoon, build a fire, trap a coyote, etc. So I am okay. Here are a few pics:

    Smoke cookin up a storm:

I pretty much had the time of my life this weekend. Definitely the most fun I've ever had camping or hiking, and the most fun I've had doing anything in a long, long time. I wish I had gotten to stay all weekend. There is nothing that will keep me from the next meet. Thanks to everyone for making me feel at home (well, after the initial hazing). Thanks to Smoke for all the good cookin, IA Woodsman, JAAT, Whitejaw, and IZ for all the classes. Thanks to all of you guys for making me feel like part of the group and teaching me so much. I am ready for the next one!

Homeslice we said we'd take care of you didn't we pumpkin? Did you tell your friends you spent the weekend in the woods with a bunch of men you met on the internet?

The only down side to the trip is that there is no flint in Missouri. Well except for the 6 tons we found all over the camp.

Oh and by the way do you guys remember me bottoming out in those rocks as I pulled in? Yeah the car is in the shop now, don't ask me exactly what's wrong but I barely made it home. The other thing I learned is that a Hyundai is not good with rock crawling.
