Over a year ago I saw a knife made by Skogknive with a Corian grip. Having sold Corian kitchen and bath vanity tops years ago while putting myself through school I had the overwhelming desire to have a knife scaled in Corian too.
Well my wish finally came to be yesterday when I opened a box from River Bottom Knives. Rook has built me a gorgeous little knife. A model he is calling The Companion. It’s a drop pointed, convex ground, razor blade with almond Corian scales and blood red liners. The Corian looks like polished bone. Rook did an outstand job, the fit and finish is perfect, and his skills as a leather worker should not go unnoted either. He made me a neck sheath that is also a work of art. I’d strongly recommend his work to anyone looking for a sweet blade.
Thanks for making me a new best buddy Rook!!

Thank you for the kind words and the patience Wolf , it really hits home. Forgive me for the 2 photos as I am currently without a decent camera as the one I had was stolen. This is the best I have currently.

wow! that's a great looking blade in a useable size, congrats, WW1!
nice that it's got a "personal tie in" to your background too - should make it all the nicer.

    what's the overall length?

That's a good question, I ground and heat treated that blade so long ago before my hiatus that I can't recall for sure but I believe it started at 5/32"

I’ll measure it tonight, but what ever it is the balance is just right. The Corian is very nice, but really is heavy for its size. Care must be taken by the maker when offering it as a handle material. I’d say on many knives it would turn an otherwise sweet design into an abomination to handle carry and use.
