hey guys, so I've been lookin' into getting myself I quality wool blanket for over a year now, and before I ordered one I though I'd search my city's craigslist.

Turns out there was one listed on the day i decided to look. "stylish military wool blanket"
a young girl was selling hers because she was moving back to France (where she'd originally acquired it) and didn't want to drag it back with her.

so 20$ later I got what seems to me is a great blanket... it looks like the Italian wool ones I've seen on the net, but I was wondering if there'd be any way to ID it or know the quality of it etc since there is no tag on it. It is darn heavy I'll tell you that much. I'm pretty sure I scored on this one, just curious for any input.

here are a couple pics. cheers!

Definitely Italian. I should know, I've been staring at one for the last three days while I'm hand sewing it into an anorak! :)

Haha, Just sniff it. I am trying to air one out now and I don't think that smell can ever fully go away.

I can Joe. Not the best one I've seen, but it will keep me warm. I'll get some pics tonight and upload them either on this thread or I'll look for the sticky.

I did get the smell to go away on the two that I have. I just hung them over the rail on the deck for about a week. I let it rain, sun, snow, and blow on them until the smell left. Hung them in the garage for another week to make sure. They smell really fresh with no mothball odor whatsoever.

hey thanks for the replies guys. As for the smell, I was pleasantly surprised that it has no mothball scent whatsoever as though it had never been issued or anything. Just smells like a living room!
