Not sure that qualifies as little

A little whitetail buck I got the last week of the season, in the forest behind my place. Shot him at 60 yds, dropped right there.
He must have been scrapper; busted off a couple of points.

This year I have finally gotten a chance to do some rabbit hunting. It's been years since I went and had a great time. Two days yielded 7 rabbits, 3 squirrels, 5 quail (breasted out and bacon wrapped most of them already. It's like wrapping bacon around a chicken nugget!!)

Just a medium sized doe but I can't say how happy I am to have a little meat for the freezer! I'll try to do a little write up later today. This season was terribly frustrating.....

I took 7 cottontails today using my Hatsan 95 .22 cal airgun aka Thumper. There's a link below to my post about the hunt in the Trips and Expeditions forum of BCUSA.

You gotta check the seasons if you want to be legal. Most species have seasons and limits that can be killed per day/season. And you need to purchase the license for the particular animals.

Took a friend out hunting and he shot his first hogs. Ended up with 7 over 2 days and kept 2 small ones for the freezer. Used my knife from @Biggin and can only say wow what a job Ben does on his knives.

    IMG_0437.JPG

And a little apple pie moonshine to celebrate the second one.

    IMG_0442.JPG

All said our group ended up with 16 hogs and 2 doe. Great way to end to end the week. Waiting for the turkeys this spring.

    Some beautiful harvests posted!
I went out Saturday after work and got settled into a nice sit spot hidden behind some fallen trees. Must have been so hidden that despite my hunter orange another guy came out and began setting-up 50 yards away!! I don't know if he saw me or not but I let him know I'd been sitting there and decided to move forward another 50 yards and put him directly in my scent cone. Good thing I did because not long after two doe came up a trail that I wouldn't have had a shot at previously. Took a lung shot on the first one and the second got a pass. Felt great to have worked the wind to my advantage, gone to the range, sighted in the shotgun slugs, and then placed a good shot while just sitting on a bucket. Think it all came down to relaxed breathing and a trigger pull on the exhale.

Well, like 6+ hours of work later it's now in my belly, the jerky smoker and freezer :)
