The 2018 Dirt Time In TN as always was a blast! I'll post my photos here in a bit when I have a chance to upload and sort through them all. If those of you that took photos at the meet would be kind enough to share them here I'd greatly appreciate it. This possibly being my last meet to host having these photos to remember it by is something I'll cherish.

To say it got muddy is a huge understatement! :11: This is my truck after I got back home.

Yeah man fellas, lots & lots of MUD, deep thick slick & sloshy mud. :3: I lost count of how many vehicles I had to pull all the way out. Most wouldn't even move from there parking spot. We Got-R-Done though! :dblthumb:

As much as I dread it (I is wo out) I've gotta start unloading but I'll get some photos up when I get done.

Tim was a great host and the free tow service was much appreciated. I really enjoyed hanging out with everyone this weekend. Good company and a warm fire. I’ll get my pictures uploaded tomorrow.

I had a great time meeting everyone this weekend. Thanks for all of the effort you put in to set this up, Tim! And also thanks for the tow out of the mud.

Sucks I couldn't make it this year..... this thing called "life" sucks sometimes.... anyways....

IF things go as planned I'll be retiring and living in western/south western TN this time next year. If things go the way we are planning I might just could host it next year. The earliest I would be able to host would be MAR2019. More to follow on this one and can't wait to see the pics from this one!

No wrestling that I know of but @TX-1948 did mention something about @pellegrino chasing him around the campfire. :3:

Some of these photos aren't very good quality but this meet was extra special for me so I'm going to post all I have regardless of quality. I'll come back and edit in some text after I get the photos posted.

@Peter M & @Tennessee on the left here. Don't let these two mild mannered men fool ya... they are absolutely wood chopping machines! :4: Thank you so much for the help guys!!!

Not exactly sure what @Jewelweed & @AirPirate are doing here but I think they are either really cheering on @Peter M as he carves his awesome bowl or giving him down the road about how he's doing it one or the other. :3:

@Rumsy sitting to the right of the fire pit with his magical bellows, he was the official firemaster this weekend breathing new life to a wet wood fire. :4: He and @Hoof would not allow me to fix myself breakfast this weekend. @Rumsy prepared for me the most amazing gourmet quality bacon egg & cheese sandwiches I have ever eaten! No photos but I can tell ya it was fit for a king! Thank you so much guys!!!

This weekend gave me a chance to try out some new gear, one of which was my Coleman oven. What better to try it out with & more fitting for a bushcraft meal than pizza??? :3: The oven worked great and the pizza was plum tasty. :)

Not 100% sure but I believe @pellegrino was giving someone the stink eye here... no words needed, with one look you knew you'd better straighten up! :3: Also in this photo @Peter M brought along his guitar to provide us with some tunage, to his left @Tennessee and on his right @nograveconcern & @badglide9705 soaking in the sounds of music.
    IMG_7564.JPG IMG_7565.JPG IMG_7566.JPG IMG_7567.JPG IMG_7568.JPG IMG_7569.JPG IMG_7570.JPG IMG_7571.JPG

Another new (to me) piece of gear I tried out this weekend was the Firebox 5" Gen2 folding stove. It only took me 3 yrs to decide which one I wanted LOL the eccentric (if that's the right word... non square) shape of it had always put my OCD into fits looking at them online. :D I have to say though I'm very please with it, the build quality is excellent and it worked great, burning all the wood down to nothing but a small amount of very fine ash.

15 hours of steady rain do tend to turn river bottom silt a tad muddy. My son and two nephews in law had a blast, as did I.

I'd love that and you're welcome anytime brother! It doesn't have to be an official meetup to share some woods time with friends. Colin was a huge help as always and the Georgia gang is always welcome to come see me!

Guys, I had a great time hanging out with you this weekend. Back to 12 hour shifts tomorrow, I`ll try to post photos later this week. Sorry I couldn't hang around to see everyone this morning but I wanted to get an early start. Tim, thank you for hosting and making me feel welcome. I almost didn't make it out of the mud this morning!

@T. Pollock thank you once again for putting this together and having us all down there! And really really appreciate the car mud skiing ride on the way out..,:D You were definitely the hero of the day!! like I said, you ever want to hang, have some coffee, throw some hawks or whatnot just holler. It's a short drive down there and I wouldn't mind one bit! Had a great time and hope to get together with everyone again! The few pics I took will be up in the next day or two!!

You're very welcome brother, hosting the meets has always been my pleasure. Thank you for the awesome hawk!!! We'll definitely have to get together again, I have the property but it's not easy to find someone willing to make the effort to share some woods time with an old dude that has some crazy health problems. :dblthumb:

    I saw 4 of my favorite guys standing together so I had to get a pic. That's @Rumsy - @TX-1948 - @Bonekrakker - @T. Pollock

Speaking of wool coat, check out the awesome green wool coat I'm wearing in the above two photos, an amazing gift from my friend @TX-1948 , I'm still speechless... thank you so much brother!!! It even makes an ugly ole codger like me look good. :dblthumb:
I have a boreal shirt that is very warm but this coat made by White Oak is to me even nicer since it has the zipper to be able to vent the coat when active or just getting too warm. Much easier to put on than a pull over as well. I wore it all weekend and it not only kept me warm but it also kept me dry and warm during all the rain we had. I'm fairly new to wool and I was amazed at how much water it repelled!

We did indeed, the meets are always a ton of fun! I lost count but I believe we had either 28 or 30 folks for this meet.

Had a great time seeing everyone again and meeting all the new faces.

Thank you Tim for hosting again. I know you put in a lot of working doing these. I planned on coming back out this morning after church to help finish packing/cleaning everything up, but plans got changed and I didn't get home until afternoon, sorry.

No worries brother, everyone that was still there this morning pitched in and helped break down and clean up camp and they were a huge help.

I've always been somewhat of a work-a-holic and I've always been happiest when working but everyone at the meet made sure I wasn't allowed to do any work at this meet. :dblthumb: It's hard for me to relax sometimes but I want to thank you all for making sure this time I had nothing to do but relax and enjoy the fellowship and woods time. I thoroughly enjoyed having more one on one time to spend with everyone at this meet and thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your help! Good friends are hard to come by in this life and I just want you all to know that I appreciate you and appreciate your friendships. I consider myself very blessed to have friends like you all!
