We would have needed lifeboats this weekend, I've seen some cool ones with a tent on top
@Hoof But does it have a place for @TX-1948 to plug in his coffee pot?
Wow that’s a lot of water. would have made the mud event interesting.
holy moley, that's big water!..
Wow, that's crazy!
Wow, thanks for the pictures Tim. Houseboat bushcrafting....
The flooding there is rare but it has happened a few times over the years. It seems to be getting worse though as this is the second time in less than 6 months.
I had wondered how high the water might get during a big rain....WOW. Glad we just got enough to make the mudbog event slippery...
Wow thats some serious water! the bridge picture is hard to comprehend! Thanks for sharing Tim!
You're very welcome brother!
uh, wow ...
Looks perfect for a Tom Sawyer style bushcraft raft-up!
Even tho its been a while since a post has been made here, this thread is inspiring, cool to see everyone one getting together having a good time, trading ideas and skills, wish I couldve made it.
The meets are always an absolute awesome time, wish you could have made it too. If I ever figure out a good way to overcome some health issues I'll start back having meets.
WOW! Reminds me of the flooding in/around Nashville a few years ago...
It use to be a very rare thing that it would flood there but in recent years it seems to happen more frequent.
Looks like you may need to stock up on these and then you could rent them out at the next meeting!!! LOL
Just a thought. OJ
I ended up having to back out this year but went to the winter one last year (Jan 2017) and had an absolutely great time. It was the previous year's picture thread that got me wanting to go in the first place, and it ended up being even better than I hoped. Pulling in was kind of surreal, considering I had just driven nearly 700 miles to camp with a bunch of guys I had never met in person, but it didn't take more than 10 or 15 minutes to feel at home. I mean, this wasn't my first time to show up to a meet / gathering / get together organized on internet forums where I had not yet met anyone in person, but it was easily the best. I still remember how invigorated and satisfied I felt leaving there.
And if you think Tim is friendly, welcoming, and generous with his time and knowledge on here, you'd be surprised how much more so he is in person.
It was cool that Guy was able to make that event too, and shared some really interesting stories around the fire, including how this forum got started and all that.
Sure missed you too brother! Hosting the meets has been the most fun I've had in a long long time.
It's one thing to read how to do skills on here or watch it on youtube but there's nothing like the kind of one on one instruction that goes on at the meets. I get so excited and have learned soooo much at the meets. Every one has been super nice and so generous to share/teach skills! Having the opportunity to sit around the campfire with Guy and learn more about how the forum came to be was super cool.
Looks like a few recent posts were lost in the forum server changeover that happened last night. Sorry about that guys.
Looks like you all had a great time!! Thanks for sharing all the pics with the rest of us!
The meets have always been an unbelievably great time, thanks for taking a look brother! I honestly don't have the words to describe just how much fun they really are. I love going back through these meetup threads and reliving the great times through all the photos. When you have 30-40 like minded great folks sharing a campfire at night it's very special!!!
T. What you got in store 2019? If at all possible I'd like to attend, I believe I'm just south of you. N.w. GA
Nothing just yet bro. I'd love it if you could attend a meet though.
Keep me posted good buddy the longer notice the better.
Will do brutha man!
I'll try and brig sassy! If it's cool
