Was just wondering if anyone here would be attending this year November 2-4th ?
Got a link?
I'm hoping to stop by for a visit on Saturday.
I know @ugar-6 will be there as he will probably be teaching a class or two.
Stop by and meet Sassy @MrFixIt
We have 2 discussion on Saturday not sure the times yet
That would be awesome...and to meet you also!
Anybody know if you can just pay at the gate? Or do you have to pay in advance?
Not sure about paying at the gate
You can pay at the gate.
I had planned on going to this but looks like I am going to be on call that whole week. I hope everyone has a great time. Maybe I will catch you all at the next one my friends. Have fun and stay safe. Light a campfire for me BK
It looks like I can be there on Friday at around 6pm (possibly earlier) and leave on Sunday at about 2pm. That would at least leave me with all day Saturday.
Well, if Sassy The Goat is going to be there...
Sassy and I will be there later I the evening on Friday and all day Saturday and maybe mid day on Sunday. @EternalLove would be a pleasure to spend some time with ya good brawdy
I’ll be there 1st thing Friday morning
Excited to meet y'all.
Likewise I'll be the dude with the goat..
I'm stealing your goat, been talking to Casey about her for some time now. JK, but I do like goats.
I will be there in spirit!
If anyone can bring an extra folding chair that I can use, it would be much appreciated.
Goats should catch on as pets. Think about it: They don't bark or bite and they practically feed themselves. It just takes one celebrity in L.A. to walk around with a mini goat and you will have a nation sweeping trend.
I don't see the classes planned but I hope they have some good ones. Once I make a bow drill, I would be happy to show anyone who wants to learn fire by friction.
Anyone else going?
Looking forward to meeting yall fellers
I won't be there till Saturday afternoon...
I saw the tentative, very close to set, class schedule yesterday. It should be up probably Monday. It's going to be awesome and some notable names there teaching as well. We're heading over in a few minutes for a work day to get some stuff ready. @MrFixIt , you want to stop by?
I'll be helping out today.
It was really nice there. Cassey and Jess and eveyone I met there are good folk. They had cooked up some deer tenderloin shot twelve hours earlier. Ugar brough a hawk and axe for throwing and gave me a lesson at the axe targets. In the end I could stick it reliable with one rotation at about twelve paces away. He throws a double bit as well. They have plenty of fire pits. We spread hay out on one area and cleaned up another. Lots of cut grass and not many bugs. I didn't see any ants. They mentioned that some celebrity will there; A Bushcraft Goat. I wonder who. The nearby city of Athens is nice too.
Y'all Sassy's discussions/class are Saturday 10 am 4pm 45 minutes each
But everyone is welcome to come hang whenever and as long as they like. I want to try some experiments while I'm there with Sassy, I want to know if she will hike with someone other than myself or my wife.. any volunteers?
I' m down. I'm apparently the animal whisperer anyway so if it's possible......
Thanks for the kind words. It was great meeting you. I was a little bit grouchy that day due to some jacktard hitting and running my car and my back hurting so bad, separate issues.
The event starts today.
Who's here ?
Thoroughly enjoyed my brief time there yesterday afternoon.
Saw @ugar-6 again (been way to long my brother), met @Bushcraft-kelso, his lovely wife and Sassy!
@EternalLove and I walked, talked, oohed and aahed over quite a few of the vendors offerings and generally solved the worlds problems.
Also met youtuber “Blackie”.
I wish I could have spent more time there.
Oh, Phil, did you go back and buy that sweet ax?
It was great meeting you as well. Thanks again for the Mora Tribe patch. Kelso helped (actually setup my tent for me) while I looked for him. I setup a small fire (with Ugalrs help) in front of it and slept with my tent door open to look at it. Kelso and his wife are really nice. They shared some fajitas with me for dinner
Of course Sassy stole the show. She was well behaved and well loved by her family.
And yes. At the last moment I could not resist getting going back for an axe. I found one that I liked I liked even more. These pictures do not do it justice. I'll see if I can take better pictures later.
Y'all the pleasure was all mine. I had a wonderful time as well as my wife. I'm willing to bet anything that Sassy enjoyed herself too! While I didn't get to spend as much time with everyone as I would have liked to. I did enjoy the time spent. @ugar-6 we need to try to set something up where ur not working so hard my good brawdy! @MrFixIt awesome time brawdy! Hope you had a good time hanging with ole Sassy and myself. We will do it again! @EternalLove Spence! Awesome score on the axe braw! You know I had to cook something on the fire! Really enjoyed it braws! Looking forward to next time!
@EternalLove , so glad you could make it and that you had a good time. Really glad you got that axe from Jason, he does an amazing job restoring those. You definitely have to come back! @Bushcraft-kelso , same goes to you as well, especially one of the smaller camp functions so that we can really sit down and enjoy the fellowship. You have a lovely and sweet wife and a wonderful fur child. She was so cool!!! @MrFixIt , so honored you FINALLY made it out, you're coming back no question. You had too many buddies out there that you walked right by without talking to. LOL. Here's a couple of pics and I'll try to put more up after I figure out which way is up in a few days. For now...EXHAUSTED!!! Btw, it ain't a proper campout unless you have a 6lb canon shooting a 9oz charge. 'Merica!
@EternalLove...sorry Spencer, I have no idea where "Phil" came from...
I remember seeing that ax on the table, looks like you got a good one!
@Bushcraft-kelso Yes, we definitely need to get together. I was surprised there were so many people there!
@ugar-6 I was standing near @Joezilla 's demonstration and had no idea...
The honor was all mine friend!
