Here's a 2X4 test cut with my new 4V comp knife.
Thats awesome. Weight wise how does that compare to the BBT 2.0?
Nicely done Scott! Makes me wanna do that with my BBT!!
Gotta check the weight of a 2.0. the comp knife with tapered tang and the forward section on the spine ground ended up being 1 lb. 11 oz. Edge is right a 0.015 thousnadths.
Damn. You beat that thing like it stole something from you.
Looks like fun!
Sweet set up, Scott!
The 2.0 weighs 1 lb. 15 oz. The comp knife weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. The 2.0 is made with 2 1/2" wide steel. The comp knife is just under 2" wide plus it's a 1/2" shorter.
I should have more confidence in my heat treating. This knife is ground down to 0.011 in. thick at the edge, and can handle the abuse. Some steels can't handle being that thin.
I won't be able to make it down on Sunday like I hoped, but just wanted to wish you luck with it the comp. I really wish I could be there, and see the new chopper in action. I'm really impressed with it. That thin edge should do really well!
What time does the event start? It is at the shop correct? Will there be parking at the shop parking area?
I can't wait to go!
Too bad Camber, was looking forward to seeing you. Thanks. Mr. T, competition starts at 11 am at my shop. Parking near my shop.
Great video on the Comp. Chopper Scott. That knife should do really well in the competition.
Yes, but can it slice bread?
Wow... who needs a chainsaw?!
