    So I did!
Started with the Reeves axe to cut my log down a bit, then realized it would be better to have a bucksaw so I picked it up while out to lunch. Once it was cut I used the Junglas to debark it and trimmed away a lot to get it down to where I could work with the AS Classic and my Old Timer.

    Shavings starting to pile up....

    IMG_1902.JPG

I can just start to see it

    IMG_1905.JPG

Caught one helluva knot on the neck but just pretend it's a big ol funky capo!

It's not quite as pretty as the guitar VAsticks
Carved but thanks to ya' for the inspiration!
And the knot where the soundhole was totally accidental but perfect.

Got the band together for a group photo

    IMG_1917.JPG

I need to add that the Classic performed carving duties very well and I enjoyed it very much.
Maybe not it's intended purpose in design but it was awesome to use nonetheless.

Last weekend it was raining/snowing so I got to practise my kitchen bushcraft skills... image.jpeg

Couldn't find the vegetable peeler and I felt like batoning the stew turned out pretty good.

Just wondering if any AS knives are made with a shorter blade, 3.5" or less? Like a mini version?

Worked on the guitar a little more and tidied it up a bit recently. One coat of blo and it really enriched the colors of the wood.

Posted this on Instagram a bit ago, haven't been able to be on the forum that much anymore. Trying to change that. This was a birthday gift from my childhood friend, definitely a surprise. During conversations, he found out all the things on my perfect ASK and ordered one when the books opened. IMG_1643.JPG

So... what are the details? Steel? Wood? Love the tapered tang, btw. That's probably the ONE thing I'd consider changing about my Mountaineer.

It's 1/8th in O-1, Masur Birch, blue liners, tapered tang, scandi. Honestly, would've wanted convex edge, not scandi, but Cody has only made one convex Classic to my knowledge. Still madly in love with mine.

You're second in line for it if I ever get tired of it. Someone else already called dibs back when I first got it. Honestly I don't think I'll ever get rid of it I've thought about it for long time. I can't see myself parting with it.

I was half picking with you about that but yeah, if my name comes up in the hat....? I need another knife like I need a hole in my head anyways. And you SHOULD keep that one, it's pretty b/a.

Got out to the mountains today with my son to warm up by a fire and make lunch in the woods. Had my convex 3v Mountaineer with me for fire prep work and to slice up the Venison Kielbasa.

Convex Guide did all the work cutting up meat and veggies for steak and stout pie for dinner tonight. Still razor sharp. FYI, the meat pieces you see on the cutting board were leftover mostly fat pieces for my doggies.

Gave my new Voyageur it's first work today. Split a little fatwood then jumped right into batoning through some dense, wrist-thick dogwood. Handled it all flawlessly!! Shavings on the fatwood were effortless... She's a keeper:dblthumb: 0401181740.jpg

You all have some fantastic looking knives here! I particularly enjoyed seeing a Convex Mountaineer because I've got a Scandi Mountaineer and have always wondered what the convex would be like. Thank you all for sharing

Here is my mountaineer. I don't think I'd trade it for the world at this point. I'm certain it's safe to say that this knife is here to stay!
