Just saw a commercial for season 6. It will take place in the Arctic and debut in June. Pretty sure the date mentioned was June 6. No links to post yet so if you see something online feel free to ad to this thread.

Potentially hungry times ahead. Shouldn’t be much different than last season but also potentially less building materials depending on what the producers have in mind.

I found some videos. Looks like a decent amount of trees and a ton of snow on the ground. I saw blood but wasn't sure if it was an injury or someone succeeded in hunting. Also didn't have the sound on.

I read somewhere that it was going to be filmed on the Northeast side of Great Slave Lake, Northwest Territories, Canada.

Way too cold for my blood.

If they did it in summer, that wouldn’t be too bad of a place.

Let’s use this thread to keep up with the action?

I think they always start in the fall though. Wouldn't have much time to get settled before winter hits up there.

...can't wait! Should be epic if they face winter conditions.

I just wish they would put some folks in a place, even the arctic at the right time of the year, that would give them a reasonable chance of staying out there for a LONG time. A good stock of food like dried fish would allow someone to build a good shelter and be a hermit. That would drive the crew nuts though.

Based on the previews..... looks like they are facing some serious storms.

Hopefully the premier in June will really impress. :)

I hope they last longer than 14 days since the Naked and Afraid pair went that long

Looks like Donny Dust was one of the lucky 10.

I heard this too, but the Great Slave Lake is not in the Arctic Circle. If it is in the arctic, the Great Bear Lake falls within the circle.

Would the scenery mainly the trees seen in season 6 teaser footage fit that location?

I don't know. I'm from Michigan, and have never been there. Bing and Google satellite images don't show enough detail to see if there are trees or tundra there. There were definitely trees in the video.

I think they call anything north of the US border ‘arctic’. LOL

I worked some at a gold mine at the south end of Lake Contwoyto. I was lucky to be there on the longest day of the year and the shortest. It is due east of the east end of Great Bear lake, and is south of the Arctic Circle some miles. NO trees in that area for sure. Lots of caribou, ptarmigan, some musk ox and other critters. LOTS of fish in the lake. Wonderful weather (70s F in the summer) at the right time of the year. Ptarmigan are dumb as rocks. I walked right up to quite a few to take pics. Food should be easy, LOL.
But, fall and winter? No thanks.

I recently ran across a post that Donny Dust of Paleo Tracks Survival is one of the contestants. So it will be cool to see how he handles certain situations. For those of you unfamiliar with Donny here are some links to his other doings.

    https://www.paleotrackssurvival.com/

The end results of who wins doesn't matter to me. I personally like to watch an episode of Alone every now and again for tips and tricks, or to see how different folks handle their "routine" task to make things work for them.

    Thanks,

    Jarrod

Alone just keeps going further down the crapper to me... they're trying too hard to make the show different while losing what made the show popular in the first place. I'm not getting my hopes up for a good show this season. :(

I've been up in cold country.

I"m old and my alabama blood says don't go there, but deep inside me is still a wonder about it.

I"d like to see them put folk in places where I can imagine myself, but In alabama ya probably can't walk ten miles without hitting some farm or house or town. At the extreme and if ya don't wander around in circles.

    Still Looking forward to it.

Just wish they hadn't made me sign up with cable to be able to see the youtubes since I don't do TV much anymore.

Ah well I'll keep up from hear at the least.

Yeah... same here. This show is actually what brought me to this forum during season 3. After being excited for, then disappointed by, seasons 4 and 5... I'm really not all that excited about it anymore.

I'll watch it, of course, but hoping they surprise me with something good.

Right now, I can't help but think of Brooke Whipple and her fun little "Starvation Vacation" spoof.

I agree with Paul. Season 4 was not so good, and the hiking was not very interesting. I was disappointed when I heard that Season 5 would be people from previous shows. Some of that was jealousy though. I want to be on Alone in Mongolia. I own all the seasons an Amazon, and seldom re-watch Season 4. I have seen Season 5 several times and every time I watch any of the past shows, I try to think what I would do in their places. Its easy to say we wouldn't make the same mistakes they made, but can we be sure we wouldn't make the same mistake after being out there on minimum food for a month?

Looking forward to Season 6. And I won't be disappointed if Season 10 is all the winners from the previous seasons (which is only possible because of Season 4, otherwise the winners season would have to wait for Season 11).

I can assure you, the only whale bone I have ever seen was the one shown to me by a woman I briefly met (once) that was from the penis of a whale. Yeah... she was a little weird.

@Fowler (season 3 winner) has mentioned, several times in his videos, the possibility of having an "Alone: All Stars" season.
