Currently awaiting a package or two, I'm giving it a couple days and then I'll rip into the rock pile I have.

I hate to complain but we have some property between Palacios and Port Lavaca, Texas where it was 87 degrees at 7 A.M. The high was 107. I miss winter.

Hey, @Beach Hiker, I absolutely KNOW you're a magician and NOT a clown but I think that you can still appreciate this song!

That's so awesome what you do for tbe children in the oncology ward. That made my eyes get "dust" in them. I can't believe you felt that required a confession! Dude! The way you were acting I was expecting your confession to be something like "guys, you should know that my chosen career is a male stripper like my heroes @CivilizationDropout and @gohammergo - I have a bushcraft theme in all my sets with knives and fire props. My routines are extremely educational and motivating...you should see how I make friction fire." ;)

Seriously, Rob, you should be proudly proclaiming what you do because I think we are all proud to have you as a friend!

I have known about @Beach Hiker 's profession for quite some time now. He swore me to secrecy and no one but my wife was told. I can be kinda nosy, as you well know @BetterNotBitterIsSurvival :). I asked, mostly out of curiosity, and he confided in me. :) He is a stellar individual, and I think that he does more good in the world than he lets on. :)

Looks like chert to me. Extremely common in Florida to find that color material in and near the tannic rivers and sink features. It’s a weathering reaction rind. Unworked boulders, worked billets, flakes, and points all look like that.

I met a ton of dogs last week on my beach vacation and not one came close to being as cute as Archie.

Fun fact, I have a white horse named Archie.

As I sort, I realize I need to go to the craft store for those little bags buttons come in...

Also, two parcels are still inbound. I thought we were up but that's my mistake. They should be here in short order though and will not delay the sorting.

That reminds me, on another thread about the speedy stitcher, I posted a repair I did to the strap of one of the kid's red shoes. Found out yesterday that now the other one needs the same repair. Need to put it on the to-do list.

But, the repair I did is still holding strong...

Lol yeah I saw the alert for the like you just gave that post - hope the thread doesn't get a bump, sleeping dogs lying and all that...

I did post a pic. It's probably easier to repost it than dig up the thread where I posted it originally. BTW I never claimed it was a pretty repair, only a functional one... I was sewing on the Velcro backing.

There's probably a pair of 1000 dollar shoes somewhere with that kind of stitching.

The first one, this Velcro had separated completely, while on this one it's still hanging a bit...

But, looks like it could use a little shoe goo, too...

    Greetings,

@kronin323, nice work. I love the diy nature, it functions perfectly and it looks good. :dblthumb:

Abso-f***ing-lutely! Lately i've started carrying around mine like a blade (in addition to a blade:rolleyes:) everywhere I go. There's always a few minutes to do some sewing. :)

I have patched up unravelling threads from my sandals, too:

    20190908_112447.jpg

At the background, yet another pouch-in-the-making. I just can't stop using my Speedy Stitcher.:)

    Edit: about the background:

On the farm and at the beach.
