As it stands right now I have 5 to the 12 flys on my tying bench. 7 more to go. Dead line is 15 August so we have another 25 days. No rush plenty of time. I will continue to update the original post and create a new one as I receive them in. Thank you all for participating and making this happen.

I'm still working on mine, I'm doing some dries and those aren't the easiest for me to do.

I know what you mean, I have been tying for almost 40 years now. I still struggle with the wings on traditional dry flies. Most of the time it is just easier for me to just go buy the things rather than trying to do them myself. And since I struggle with them, what do I do? Select a dry fly pattern, lol

I've got 4 of my 12 tied up. It seems that a lot of the iris caddis I have been tying for this swal have been getting put in the fly box and seeing river time. I get home from my fly fishing trip on Tuesday so I should be getting the remaining 8 tied up shortly.

The second one is a sz.16 olive crackleback, but yeah, essentially a really big griffith's gnat. Trout candy as I like to call them.

Gentlemen please hurry up and submit. Having all these flies sitting where I have to look at them everyday and not fish them is killing me. On a side note, I will try and return the same box, tin etc.. to the rightful owners.

Received set number ten today from @Wolfcri . He claims that they are ugly and is new to fly tying. I’m not sure about all that, mine are pretty ugly. But I can assure you that his will catch fish, they are really buggy looking and should work great.

Also have @R Stowe on the way with a tracker number for set #11

One more set to go! Then I. An separate mail them in out. I good thing about hosting a fly swap, lol while you are all waiting to receive them, I can go out and fish them and get the first fishing report posted up. I can’t wait!

Just received word that one of our tiers had to withdraw, and asked us to go ahead and proceed. With that being said I will start to decide the flies up and start getting them ready to return to everyone. To be perfectly honest it will probably be Saturday before I can do this. I will post when I get them off n the mail. I will have to double check my numbers, but I believe each wil receive 15 flies back due to some of us tying up 2 patterns.

Well, work has been ridiculous. In fact I’m typing this on my phone sitting in the parking lot getting ready to clock in. I haven’t forgotten about getting the flies out in the mail. In fact the reminder is every day grabbing my wallet and keys on the way to work. With that said, I will be taking them to the. Craft fail that I have tomorrow dividing them up and getting them in the envelopes as I’m sitting in my booth. They will be in the mail Sunday morning.

No worries. There's plenty of time to fish them.

I got in an experimentation mode at the vise last night. Here's a few I came up with.

I'm heading out after work to hit up the mouth of a creek, then tomorrow I'm floating the river, and Sunday I might make it a weekend trifecta of fishing.

Gentlemen, they are all separated and put into you boxes addressed etc..... I will drop them in the mail on Monday on my way to work. Thank you all for participating! There since we lost one tier, and @werewolf won pretty much told me to keep his set, half to do some research, but I promised to tie some for a Tenkara pass around so one extra sets will be mailed to @Hunt4lyf or whoever currently has the rod whichever you prefer. The other set I am going to send to our tier that had to withdraw from the swap do to what I call life issues. Trust me it happens to all of us. Work, the family, etc..... should all come first. And if you get a moment to stop at a stream and fish them that’s what this is all about to me anyways. Just let me know via PM where I need to send them.

In the side pocket or the red thing? The side pocket has bug sunscreen that you can just see the lid, the red thing is bear spray in an FHF holster.

This was a pretty cool thread, and a really neat idea. Curious how the reverse hackle flies work out for the western fly rods?

Tenkara has recently gotten me back into fishing. Before that I didn't do much fly fishing, mostly crank, spinners, and soft plastics. Definitely enjoyed seeing everyone's creations!

I gave some sakasa kebari to a friend and he said they work just fine on a western rod.
