    Hey all.

If any Mississippians were ever interested in learning Judo, or Aikido, there's a little Dojo in Old Town Clinton, 108 E Leake Street.
The Sensei is a 7th Dan, which is the highest rank you can achieve, so he knows his stuff.
It's fun to learn, keeps you in shape, and has practical self Defense application.
He's got a lot of kids learning, but he wants more adults to train.

EDITED to add: Time is 1800 to 2000 on Mon, Tues, and Thurs.

(If any mods have a problem with this, I made sure to clear it with Guy before posting.)

I'm not in Mississippi, but I'd recommend Judo.

I studied a martial art for a few years called Kar Do Jitsu Ryu which combined karate, judo, and ju jitsu. I was very impressed with the Judo I learned. There is so much more to it than simply flipping people over your shoulder. Chokes, takedowns, blocking, Judo is extremely applicable to the streets, more so than karate or tae kwon do or some other hard form.

Another recommendation for Judo. I'm not in the area, I'm fortunate enough to be close to the largest Judo club in North America.

As Crazysanman said, Judo is much more than flipping people. Quick trivia: Where did BJJ come from? You guessed it, the ground portion of Judo.

One correction though, 7th dan is not the highest you can go in Judo. I believe 10th dan is the highest.

I was told they changed it? You might be right though.

    You guessed it!
Thanks for the heads up. I live in Ridgeland and wouldn't be any trouble to ride over that way.

I'll kick it around for a few days and decide!
