I don't know where to post this and it's not really bushcraft but on a dayhike yesterday I found this bottle and was wondering what it was from. I thought it was plastic when I first saw it but it's heavy glass. Looks like George Washington on the front. IMG_20181205_155116.jpg

Dang, that looks pretty cool. It would be pretty sweet if it was worth some $$$.

    Fingers crossed for you!

    hello,
I could be waaay off track here, but I think it could be a Jim Bean bourbon whiskey liquor decanter/bottle with a depiction of Mozart. I saw similar a while back browsing old whiskey bottle labels which I used to collect, especially bourbon labels. AWESOME find BTW. :)
    Regards

Years back while in a trout stream I saw a blue bottle sticking up out of the sandbar. I picked it up and it was a old milk of magnesia bottle with raise letters in the glass. Still have it on the kitchen window.

The OP's bottle looks 3D but the others look flat and newer. Must be different ages so probably the 3D is older I'm guessing and maybe more valuable.

My first impression was Ronald McDonald, before he got a big red nose from drinking.

When my older son was 10-12 years old we occasionally hiked in an area where several old mining camps had been. We would stop and dig around the edges of one of the old trash pits. We found plenty of old bottles but never anything that nice. One day I could hear the excitement in his voice when he yelled for me to give him a hand. He had found this fancy glass handle which was still fastened to something underground. As we carefully dug deeper this really nice pitcher appeared. His excitement changed to disappointment when he finally pulled it free to reveal that a chunk was broken away. We dug the same area many times after because he believed we would someday find the missing piece. I guess it's still there.

Possibly since the color has all faded from the OP picture, the image appears more "sculpted" or 3 dimensional.

I believe the Jim Beam decanters were marked on the bottom.

I used to love going thru old bold bottle dumps on upstate NY farmland. My mom gave me a glazed whiskey bottle she found as a child in a home abandoned during the Depression. On one side was a witch(brown), the other was a sailor in blue & white uniform. Always wondered what its origin was. My ex wife grabbed it in our divorce so I hope it wasn't valuable. I am looking for a bottle from post civil war era. "Dr Crittendons blood purifying bitters" , my great great grandfather produced this snake oil and I have hand written receipts for the ingredients he used including moonshine.
