    Hi all,
I've been hibernating from bushcraft during this winter of "other stuff", but am feeling inspired by watching to youtube videos and KNOWING that spring has GOT to be around the corner!

Anyone in New Jersey thinking of doing a spring meetup? I was sad to see that George of Loco Libre didn't do his hammock weekend, but I haven't found ANY other posting with upcoming local events.

    What's up with that?

Hugs to all my friends here on BCUSA :)

Going to be hard for me to get away for a weekend this spring. Day trips are a better option right now.

Well, I'd be just as happy with a group day trip if we can get a small group together :)
    I emailed you separately...

A meet up would be nice, depends on where it is though.

Well, I don't know where you are (appalachia is a bit vague), so even if I wanted to coordinate something, I'm not sure where you'd like to meet up. Feel free to suggest something :D

EDIT>>>> I see you are nearby.. you should be familiar with Stokes and similar areas, so feel free to suggest something!

We'll see who else responds and if there's interest. I reserved a campsite last fall at Stokes State Forest, but it was a small turnout and due to extenuating circumstances I couldn't participate much. I haven't done anything since that weekend, so was just wondering if anyone else was looking to coordinate something/somewhere.

Stokes is a nice place, I've rarely actually been there though, just fishing in the general areas in my secret spots.;)

Hiya @Sticks N' Stones - Yeah, basically in NJ it's a registered campsite or nothing. We have to basically pick a park, then a group campsite (or two depending on potential numbers) with a large grill. We all share in fire cooking, talk and generally practice various bushcraft skills. That would be basically the same for a day meetup too.

I'm here in Lake Hopatcong! Haven't been to Stokes since a middle school field trip but I'll anxiously await the dates for that weekend :) Just need to know a few weeks in advance to take off work.

    Hi Dawn,

We did! It's the first weekend in November every year at the Batona campsite. Oh well, maybe we'll do something just for BCUSA soon!
