I too appreciate the craftsmanship and the quality over quantity philosophy:dblthumb:.

Having said that, you can never go wrong making more knives with guards! (Of course I like them personally, but they don't seem to last long either).

I have never had a guarded Gossman, and i love the look. I really think a lot of models work better without the guard though, and saves weight and time

You’re right. In fairness it probably depends on the model, however I generally love how they look especially on the Tusker series.

Any idea if the Z Wear is as stain resistant as 3V seems to be? And how does it compare to 4V? They both look quite awesome!

Z Tuff is an impact steel, tough as hell. Z Wear is like 3V with high wear resistance but with extreme edge holding at a high hardness like 4V.

Holy mackerel. That’s the best-looking BBT I’ve seen in some time. The DC looks amazing as well!

    Spearpoint BBT sighting! :32:

You’re really tempting me with these offerings, Scott! I wish I hadn’t sold my M4 DC. A Polaris in M4 would be pretty much perfect. How many 8” BBTs and Polarises do I really have to have though??? :33:

Scott, out of curiosity, did you go with the low temper treatment on these Z-steels?

I'm doing the low temper with Z Wear because I liked the performance I got. High temper with Z Tuff.

Scott, how does Z Tuff benefit from the high temper vs the low? Curious, haven't seen much info.

If you saw the testing, no difference with Z Tuff. Just ask @Andster He witnessed the comparison. I would say it would be the same with Z Wear as it is with 3V and 4V as long as cryo is used for both. No difference. I've done the testing. So don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Just used my S7 Tusker Companion to peel the bark off of a birch walking stick for our hike to the top of Hurricane Mountain tomorrow. Spectacular knife. Someone needs to jump on this.

I’ll take the burlap AEB-L ULP.

Ok, I know there isn’t one, but when there is, I’ll be way ahead in line lol.

Just home from our Adirondacks vacation. My Gossmans were spectacular as expected. I’ve come to the conclusion that I really don’t need my big pile of knives when all I really take out is one of my Gossmans. Time to purge.
