That's an amazing piece of craftsmanship. I like that design and Handel combination!
Made this one with the O1 batch and somehow stained the blade. Otherwise a new knife. This one has a nice thin slicey edge.
1/8" O1 Apache, black canvas, heavyweight hot waxed Herman Oak leather sheath. $275
It's another beaut brotha!
Still waiting on Compadre II's
FYI that project was scrapped a long time ago. I've been on forums for a long time and I don't go to sales threads to change the subject or throw shade.
I’ll take it please
What can I say? Your knives get me excited!
..late in the day..open the thread....dang nice black scales on that..reach over to my small pile of MP's and pull out my Apache with ODgreen...glad to have one SET.
Thats a beauty! Looking for an M3 should one ever come up. Keep missing these, but the day will come.
When are you making another one of those Apaches? Green handle with orange liners.
M1 compact primitive with stag scales and epoxied hemp wrap. .100” thick A2. 3 3/8” blade 7 1/4” oal. Custom hot waxed backsewn necker by @handlagetavtiffany
Cross posted on IG. Post I’ll take it below if you want it.
I’ll take it....
Very nice look, Brian.
That was out of the park sweet.
Thank you @Angelgutter for saving my marriage!!
I totally agree! @Sargent I hope we get to see more scales like this... on this model and others?! EPIC!!!
Thanks guys, I appreciate it!
Brian,is the hemp wrap inset flush with the scales?
For the most part. I cut out quite a bit of material and inset it. It's a little lumpy but that gives it grip and retention in the sheath.
Thank you, Brian
Not only does it look functional, that cross check effect across the stag grain just grabs you! Not calling it pretty, I'd never call a Sargent knife pretty. It just looks so right, like that bone and hemp had been together for years.
It's Axis deer from Hawaii. Absolutely no pith, really nice stuff. I used the old school acid trick on it.
M1 primitive, .100" thick A2 tool steel, oak scales, epoxied hemp wrap, hot waxed backsewn neck sheath. SOLD
Pm incoming Brian
Looking good team SET!
Still up guys, that looks a bit to big for my childish paws
M1 Primitive, .100" thick A2, Axis Deer stag, dyed hemp, shaman pattern and jigged, hot waxed Herman Oak backsewn necker sheath.
Bonus points and I'll throw in something extra if the buyer can tell me what the pattern represents.
Will be posted on IG later.
I’m like holding my breath and credit card. Someone save me. I don’t know how much longer I can hold off.
Think it sold on IG.
Thank Goodness. I had to log off but I also had to come back... Only thing that would make it better is if it was spearpoint.
Thanks guys, appreciate it!
Can we guess if anyway if we didn’t snag it?
Looks like one of the dippers and North Star?
Yeah you got it!
I was going to say anarchy or migration.
Amazing work once again! The m1c showed up yesterday and you really need a hologram to show how nice these knives really are...
Just out of curiosity, do you burn in the shaman designs into the stag?
Crap, that was the sweetest yet.
I sit out and stare at Ursa Major and Polaris most nights. They appear huge in our northern sky. I spend many hours gazing at them and the Dog Star.
That has to be the sexiest knife I have ever laid my eyes on.
Fifteen hours later, I stand by what I said last night.
That is without a doubt, the sexiest knife knife I have ever seen, period, end of discussion.
If you have a blank and a grinder, I can send you a hunk of axis antler. If I had a blank, a grinder, pins, epoxy, and the skill set, I would give that a go. That said, I would have rather purchased but like you was too slow on the trigger and saw it too late. I don't have much of a chance out here for any morning sale posts as I am usually sleeping giving the time change.
Thank you sir for the kind offer!
But I have no blank, and no grinder, at least not a belt grinder. I fear even if I did. All I would end up with is a ruined blank, torn belt and antler dust.
I possess many talents, knifemaking is not one of them. At least not on this level.
I could cobble together an old power hack saw blade and some wood handles enough so to keep myself alive. But it would be far from pretty, and would never touch the level of art on that knife. Plus even if I miraculously pulled it off, it still would not be a S.E.T.
Maybe down the road I can talk Brian into trading me one for my Randall Trapper. But for now, I'm content to drool.
Although I must say.
I was out by the fire last night, and as I watched the Big Dipper emerge from the darkness. I felt a slight twinge of pain. I had showed the knife to my bride earlier in the day. Last night, I heard, "You're thinking about your knife aren't you". I lied and said no, I was just thinking. But I know she knows me better.
In reality, I have all I need sitting on the log next to me.
one of the coolest knives I've seen. I wish it were mine
I know, right Bobby?!
Did you snag it?
Negative. Been in the trout stream. But somebody got a cool one.
Will more SETlores be available anytime soon? Beautiful work!
This has been a shop knife for a while. Tester for some upcoming knives. Light use.
Far from perfect but a cool knife.
3 3/4" blade, 4 1/4" handle, 1095 @60, brass, birch bark, hot waxed leather.
