This is about 5-6' of twisted nylon cord, using whipped ends. It's going to be turned in to a ridgeline for the elective.

I used 1/16” braided cord to keep the bulk down for this lesson. The ends were whipped with micro cord. I ended up with a little over 9 ft when all was said and done.

Had very good results with the back-twist technique from the video. I can definitely see how this will help a lot when making natural cordage.

Kept it simple, approx. 5 ft piece with a fused end. I'm currently working on a longer one for my ridge line.

    2 Strand Twist submission.

This was more fun than I thought it’d be. Ended up with ~31’ of twisted 550.

I used #12 braided nylon tarred bankline and whipped the end with synthetic sinew. It is surprisingly stretchy. With one strand having the tensile strength of 95lbs, the 2 strand should have a breaking strength of 190lbs. Allowing this "twine" to have a working load of ~40lbs. I was thinking of using it for tarp tie outs, but the stretch in the line makes me question that use. I'll keep playing with it to see what it is good for.

Mine's about 6 feet long. I don't wear a belt much so I thinking this might be my shoulder strap for a survival kit in a leather pouch, as well as my knife.

Two strand twist made from 20 feet of paracord. Yielded a bit over 10 feet of final product. Ends fused and whipped on both ends.

Had some leftover mini paracord from my ridge line, so I did a two strand twist and whipped the end with some fly tying thread. Two foot measure is for reference.

So this isn't my real one because I left my go bag in my car, but I got some out of my husband's bag just for this lesson (which is why I didn't burn the end or cut it, just whipped it so I can undo it and put it back). IMG_0571.jpeg IMG_0573.jpeg IMG_0570.jpg

My rope wasn't long enough so I integrated more pieces into it like you would natural cordage.

Here's my two strand twist with man-made materials. The length is just over 5'. In this case, I used paracord and then used #12 bank line to whip the end (I also melted the ends for additional security). This is the first time I've used Google docs to host images so hopefully it works...

Started with 10ft of 550 cord and ended up with just over 47" of twisted cord. Used the backtwist method and fused the end. Have 2 nice blisters on the tips of my thumb and index finger. Gonna definitely wear gloves for the ridgeline lol. 20190126_220037.jpg 20190126_225520.jpg 20190126_225416.jpg

I've been avoiding this lesson due to problems with my wrist and hand, but my new spool of cordage came today and the task seemed do-able. This is a four-foot two strand twist of neon orange micro cord. The end was fused.
