I took OD green and fluorescent orange ( really it is...) paracord and made a six foot leash. I spliced the braid back into itself to hold the metal clip and for the handle of the leash. Thank you for the lesson!

Well, I found just over 7' of green and 14' of brown para cord in my garage. It was just enough to make a 5' piece. Hope I got it right this time.

I went a head and made it 30 feet so that I can use it for my Ridgeline as well. Braiding with two like colors and one different color can really mess with your eyes. I'm not sure if I like the colors so if I decide to make it different Ridgeline I'll be doing the 2 strand reverse twist to do my next one because I really hated this braiding project. So glad I have this one checked off ! I just burnt the ends together nothing special. IMG_4935.JPG IMG_4936.JPG

Braided eye and whipped/fused end. Just over 25 feet. I have to say, this was so much easier than the two strand twist IMO.

My resubmission for braiding man-made materials. I, too, forgot to put an eye in. Braided tarred bank line braided again, lol! Left the tails on, but I'm going to whip that end with more bank line.

I did this one with jute twine. There's an eye braided in and the end is held together with wax since I don't plan to keep this.

Let me know if this doesnt count and i will do another. I couldnt find any length of rope long enough so i had to make 2 that are about 4' each.
    IMG_8058.JPG
One is a mystery material, got it with my second hand mother canteen carrier i got from a member on here, it feels like it is coated in beeswax or something. The second (dayglow/neon) is cordage i got with my tent, they were smaller pieces so i had to splice them in with the sheet bend knot.

Finally got to this one. Took quite a while to do this, and I was able to get about 21'5"(edited) out of this project.
Braided the finished end back into itself and whipped it with inner and outer pc.
I also managed to stab myself in the finger while cutting the ends of the cord off.
I'm gonna have to work on blade handling skills apparently. Argh.
I used the axe for measuring purposes.

5' braided 550 cord with eye spliced in. Definitely tougher than the 2 strand twist. I made the mistake of using too long of cordage and it kept bunching up on the end and I would have to comb it out.

    Braided man made cordage;

I used cotton butchers twine with two strand twist, I hope that's ok, I twisted ALL of my paracord earlier. :D

14' eye splice, fused and whipped other end.

A little ugly, first eye splice.

I used 550 paracord and the length of my braid ended up being 32 feet long. I would say something that I learned while Braiding was the best way to untangle cord during the braiding process. I actually YouTube-ed it and found an extremely helpful video that sped up the process tremendously! I love paracord and I had a fun time doing this Lesson
    IMG_4079.JPG
This was the cord that I used
    IMG_4082.JPG
I ended up getting into somewhat of a routine--after I braided a length I had that much of length in a tangle behind me so I looped the end of the cord to my toe..braided...then pulled the one multicolored string from the tangled jumble which caused the other two strands to unwind..I found this miracle from YouTube and also my boyfriend's advice after the fact but it helped me out so much!
    IMG_4084.JPG
I whipped the end of my braid to secure it and then I melted the paracord to further secure the braid.
    IMG_4085.JPG
My braided paracord measured 32 feet long.

    First make the loop
    14958362862132029192824.jpg

Then find a way to keep it tangle free
    20170526_142727.jpg

    Use that try stick
    20170526_164755.jpg

    Make it long enough

I was tempted to make the ridgeline for this one but I like using my single strand with prusik knots to adjust where the tarp sits. Not sure what I'll use it for yet, I'm sure something will come up!

Had lots of good tips before doing this. The constant tail untwisting was driving me crazy. The vise grips were my saviour! Somebody could've been seriously injured if it came unravelled.

Roughly 24' combined of 3 lengths of paracord braided, with a braided in eye splice.

    Great challenge!
