    This is a pic of me....back in the day when I was a guide. Taking a group up the Chimney Pond Trail at Baxter State Park on our way to the top of Mt. Katahdin - 28 years ago.

    It was a Quest pack. My friend had a backpacking store called Backpacking Etc. Gave me a great deal!

    !957..13th Birthday and in the Sea Cadet Corps. On this small island, the Sea Cadets were almost as numerous as the Boy Scouts in those days.
    Joined my first ship just over 3 years later.

    No wonder Britannia ruled the waves . They snatched you up barely into puberty .

    20 years later and the world had turned nasty and I was in a different trade....

    It's a .455 Webley for those interested. ( and always train regularly for familiarity, with weapons available to the opposition ) was drummed into me by those who spoke from experience.... :D :D

    His job in Korea was to test all the weapons available to the communist block .

    The best job I have ever had, 75.000 rds of 7.62 by 39, 50k rds of 7.62x54, 250 rds of Rpg.
    When I arrived in country they explained my new job to me and I said, your going to pay me to shoot all day?
    And spend a fair amount of time cleaning them.

    Me from WAY back in the day. This was two years in to the USN. I was 19. I little bit of subtraction says that that was 28 years ago. 1991. OMG. I had quite the baby face.
