I'll pass. I've been down the too-good-to-be-true road on these Laplanders on Amazon. Waited weeks for a pair priced at $8. I hope you all get them though.

Don't order from "Just launched" sellers. If it seems too good to be true, it is.

Yep, he has way to many categories, brands, and products for me to think it's a legit seller.

You can't hit the link. The link is redirected by Amazon. You have to paste the link to your browser. It is still the same price. Whether or not the ever ship is another story.

Because Amazon is redirecting your browser to the main page. Click the link to view other sellers/offers on Amazon.

From what I have read a lot of these issues seem to be related to the cataloging system within Amazon. Something about the new sellers entering a product incorrectly so many do not even sell the product listed. At least with the new sellers that seem to be exploding over there lately (especially with Chinese sellers).

Still trying to figure out what the benefit would be if the seller is fraudulent. If it doesn't ship, Amazon will refund. If it ships and is fake, Amazon will refund. Amazon handles the payment so all the seller gets is a ship to address; no CC info. Not seeing an upside for seller to be fake. Not seeing a downside for buyer other than having to buy elsewhere if it doesn't pan out. :33:

Yeah, I haven't heard about it being fraud, just system errors mainly.

I've tried two and never got the items. Just ties up your cash for a month until Amazon's A-Z can't be used. Like I said, too good to be true is too good to be true.

That's how you get your money back. The seller isn't going to refund or respond, so you have to get Amazon to refund with their "A-Z guarantee." Can't use that until the expected delivery date passes and the seller has time to fail to respond.

Recent example email, took 21 days:

    Hello,

We're writing to let you know we processed your refund of $40.19 for your Order 107-5210515-6772203 from aturservice78.

This refund is for the following item(s):

Item: Condor Tool & Knife, Primitive Bush Knife, 8in Blade, Wood Handle with Sheath
    Quantity: 1
    ASIN: B00WIUGLBW
    Reason for refund: Account adjustment

Here's the breakdown of your refund for this item:

    Item Refund: $35.00
    Shipping Refund: $5.19

We'll apply your refund to the following payment method(s):

    **** Credit Card: $40.19
    Reward Points: $40.19

We've processed a refund for the above order in the amount of $40.19. The refund should appear on your account in 2-3 days if issued to a credit card.
Refunds issued to a bank account typically take 7-10 days to reflect on the account balance.

Gotcha. Only $18 and some change. So I'll either get one or I'll get my money back. If it is tied up a couple weeks, no biggie.

I went through a long and fruitless wait with "new" sellers who had a killer price on the Morakniv Garberg knive. As stated, my money was tied up while waiting on bogus shipping information to be proven a fraud.

Hope springs eternal so I ordered four of the Bahcos as stocking stuffers. Seller has already marked item as shipped and gave me a crap-for-nothing tracking number that is worthless.

The seller claimed to be in the United States but the tracking number they gave me was for a Chinese shipping company called 4PX. Once I figured out how to put the number in their tracking app I get a response of "Empty Track". My tracking number ended in ---73000

Sounds like we need to start a support group. ;)

Wait until the expected ship date is over and request a refund...wait a few days with no response and then request it again with the A-Z.

    The scam works like this:

It is ridiculously easy to set up an Amazon seller account. You post a bunch of stuff for sale that you don't actually have, and start taking orders. Amazon issues you your first payment 14 days or so after you first register your account, which gives you enough lead time to pocket some money before enough fraudulent activity shows up that they shut you down. If you play your cards right, you might pocket from a few hundred to even a couple thousand US dollars, which is quite a bit in some of the countries where this is a thing.

Amazon just writes it down as a loss. Your chances of getting prosecuted are effectively nil, particularly since in many of these countries the local government has zero issues with you taking money from Americans who are stupid enough to pay for something they aren't holding in their hands when the transaction happens, as long as they get their cut of the proceeds.

Just remember Amazon will bend over backwards to keep you as a customer. Once you report that you think it is fraudulent you usually get your money refunded in 24 hours. I'm actually waiting for something ordered from the Amazon warehouse that should have shipped a week ago. I've logged three emails with them and I've already been refunded $5 and gotten two months added to my prime. Also, when it does ship it will be overnight. They should have just sent me a new version of the item as by now they are so in the hole with this transaction.
