Im waiting on a couple group buys on some HP molds. But being impatient, I found a suppler offering as cast HP bullets very close to my molds. So last week I ordered a few hundred of each.

This morning bright n early, I fired up the oven and started bakin! Probably coated 2-3000 bullets! Red Blue Purple hammered White then some mixes of above colors. I also tried Neon Yellow and Pink but those dont cover as nicely. I did have luck mixing them into yellow and red.

Photobucket dosent allow me to post pics from
My phone. But here is a couple Ill upload to the we site. Both of these are my own color mixes Brick Red and Sea Foam Green.

Happy Mothers day to all you Mothers. :59:

Man! You have come a long way. I just sized up 1500 of the 356-130 2R. It is a no grove bullet. Just got it last week in the group buy. A 8 cavity! Man those extra cavities really speed up the output!

I coated them in Smokes green. I call it Kawasaki green. This design it made for Hitek so the powder coat builds up on the ojive of the bullet. So you have to seat them a little deep for MY GUN. Most 9mm's don't have a throat anymore. They shoot really good out of my AR9 pistol.

You made pink boolits! (not that there's anything wrong with that....;))

The seafoam is nice, too. Those are just about some huge hollow points... almost like a backwards HBWC in the .38 special....

It looks like you've gotten the hang of this PC stuff....

Thats not pink, Thats Brick Red.

BUT. I DO, make pink! Its a stubborn color to get to coat real well. I coated these white first, then neon pink.

    Now THESE ARE PINK!!! :p:p

Neon Pink & Yellow. (Lee bullet) Neither is one coats real well tumble. Some simply dont. I have a gun to try but haven't done so yet.

This is a nice lil LEE bullet 358/125. Useful in 38/357/9 & 357sig. The Sig is what I have been shooting it in.

The bullet I am really liking is a Lyman 147 g bevel base. Pic above w/single bullet is “as-cast” Lyman. This drops from the mold 357 and powder coats to nearly 360. So I am actually able to shoot this one from many calibers. But so far just 38 Super & 357 Sig. but Im looking forward to running it in the 350 Legend as a plinker.

I have a 180 Saeco bullet in 180 g that also should prove a good one in the 350. (Its the multi as cast pic above. Its got more of a TC nose profile. And its lube grooves allow sizing down to 356 and can still be sized @ 360 for my bugger 35’s.

Does the powdercoat affect expansion in anyway?

Btw. Love the use of the fry baskets and wax paper.

While I normally don't like using bevel based bullets if I'm shooting for max accuracy, those 147's look like they'd be pretty useful in a super, or Sig. I'm still not too fond of a 147 in a 9mm... I think it's borderline too heavy, but I haven't done any work with it to speak of, other than shooting commercial loads. I think that the 124-135 gr are about the sweet spot for the 9...
These are pics of a 45-70 bullet from a Lee mold that I removed the bevel base from... before/after. I got slightly better groups with the plain flat base version.

As Im sure you know, BB claim to fame is loading ease. I agree, generally I also find them not as accurate. (Same reason I always use a GC on a CG bullet.) I dont do 9mm, but I have one friend who loves them! He shoots steel and likes the lil extra on steel targets.

So far, they shoot fine. My darn super is proving excessively accurate. :D

The big pink torpedos are 450+g 458’s. My buddy likes them in his Socomb!! I made some
Pink to rib him a bit. He should be getting the box today. Im sure Ill hear from him. :p

I have a 379/250 LEE that also has a BB. Im yet to shoot it yet. Im waiting on a .377 sizer. Im Hoping it shoots good.

I really dont think that it will enough to notice.

It is tough and elastic. Very slippery too! (Cause I drop a ton of them sizing!!)

Im hoping to do some testing real soon!

You know, now that you mention it, that one in the pic that I removed the bevel from WAS the 379.... I had it for my BigBore .375 Win.... I'm easily confused in my old age, but that was the one I had for the .375. I shot the hollow base Lee bullet in my 45-70. Sorta wish I'd kept the .375, as it was fun to shoot. I just never got to hunt with it. I envisioned scores of pigs falling to it, but never got to take it out..... same thing with the Marlin 45-70. That one is gone, as well.

I need another lever gun. Probably just a plain ol' 30-30. If I could find a Marlin Texan, I think I'd be happy happy. I've got a mold for a nice 30 cal... I think it's about 170 gr. Shot some of those out of my Mosin for fun. Actually grouped pretty well.

I have a actual Raspberry color!
Its a pretty good preforming color too, surprising cause Dupont hasn't been the best for me.

Is it because the PC increases the diameter of the base, making it require more pressure to force a gc on it? Have you ever looked at the FreeChek tools? I don't know if I spelled that correctly... but you can make gc's out of aluminum cans. I've heard of people forcing them onto plain based bullets. If you can do that, I imagine it would go onto a slightly oversized gc base pretty easily.

Its just a crappy design... almost a 3/4" handle attached with a 5/16" bolt. Poor engineering at best.

It always seems to break as your lifting not pressing too.

The PC does not effect the expansion one bit. It is plastic. Copper is a lot harder and they expand fine
