An out of state member is visiting and a few of us are planning a trip to battleship cove. I expect we'll grab lunch after the tour. Anyone wishing to join us is more than welcome. I'll post the time and meeting place later.

    Hope to see you there.

I have done the tour twice, it amazes me even as a sailor the amount of manpower needed to put that vessel into harms way...ii is a fitting tribute to what determined men can do....Anchors Aweigh!

I have spent many days and nights as a volunteer at the Cove wearing various hats. This will be my first trip back to the Cove in a decade. It will be interesting to see the changes that may or may not have taken place over that time.

My rat brain is full of little know facts and trivia about the ships there, I used to give a heck of a guided tour IF my audience was worthy of it. There were people really interested in history, knew people who served on the ships etc. and other people spending a day touring boats. What I would say was based on what people wanted to hear.

Both times we stayed was with scouts, the first time they had a gentleman who served on the ship talk with the boys we also visited the maritime museum up the street and had a knot tying lesson from a man who worked there.

We are getting together at the Shaw's Plaza in Fall River around 8:30 for breakfast at the "Dunk and Munch" breakfast bar there. We'll carpool or convoy down to Battleship Cove from there.

All are welcome, come join the fun, meet a new member, hear me ramble on about the ships--Oh joy!!
