This is my dedicated firewood batoning bolo knife. It has much better control than a camp hatchet and stays under the seat of my truck. I was always told that an uncle made the blade and modified it for the sheath, but recently i"ve seen identical blades online. I believe the sheath is original WWI issue. It is canvas, wood and leather, and the leather tip is stamped: AK CO 1918 RHS. The handle is plastic and stamped "Made in Japan." It is a chopping beast and easily batons through dried, split oak for camping or backyard fires. It take a good edge and has never taken a nick or dent on the blade. Anybody have one or know the history of these?
