Well, I've been waiting for us to break 50 active members before I would submit to my first GAW. My original intent for this thread was to create a resource that members could use to identify with local members near them and a way to encourage group outing invitations. Although, I haven't seen many group outings reported here at BCUSA because of this thread I am hoping that informal outings have occurred. Remember our goal is to get outside.

    On with the GAW.

Up for the give-away is an official issued Ontario Bolt (Aircrew Survival) knife that was "un-officially" issued to me during a unit safety meeting competition, which I won back in 2002. The knife has been hardly used but does show some wear. It comes with its issued knife sheath and honing stone. We've also had two of our regional members (@PACoureurDuBois and @venmm73 ) donate surprise items to this GAW.

In order to "qualify" for this GAW, you must be one of the original 51 members who have requested to be placed on this list or one of those who have yet to request to be added to the list of active regional members before the ending of the GAW which will occur on 31 August, 2018. You must also request to be added to the GAW listing by stating "I'm proud to be Pennsylvanian" and post a picture of you doing something outdoors in this thread. On September 1st or thereabouts, may be after Labor Day weekend, I will randomly draw the winner and make it known here.

I'm proud to be Pennsylvanian! Do not include me in for the give away, but I'd like to add something to the give away if it's ok with scottmm2012 . Not sure what it will be but I'll send it off to the winner. I do not take many pics if any when I'm out and 0 video but I have a few.

Thank you for putting together the original member thread, and this generous give away @scottmm2012

The first time I flew back to Pennsylvania from a trip (just a few months after moving to PA), my heart leapt with joy to see the rolling green hills of Penn's Woods. I'm proud to be Pennsylvanian.

Proud to be a Pennsylvanian. Although I work in the great city of Philadelphia, I sometimes escape to a secret spot in the water gap:

Also please do not include me in the giveaway, I've got entirely too many knives! If I win, make sure someone who needs a knife gets one.

I'm Proud to be a Pennsylvanian!!! Feel the need to explain the last. Camping at French Creek my Fiance' made a scavenger hunt for my soon to be step daughter. Find paint on trees (trail flashes), 3 different "fairy holes" (the voids at the bases of trees), and identify 3 different critters as we hiked. I seem to have lucked out with this gal. Oh and the first is me just damn happy I got out for a bonafide hike for the first time in almost two months... moving a rehabing a house is a PITA!!!

Yeah it's only a short drive from my home so I hike there weekly and on days off I sometimes just say "I'm out" and book a camp site for a couple nights. Damn Lantern Flies are everywhere though. My permithren sprayed tent takes out about 30 a day at this point.

I've been seeing the videos from family down that way. I'm so glad we haven't had the infestation yet, but I believe its just a matter of time. You all need to get rid of them all before they make the move above Interstate 80.

Due to possessing a small armory of blades as well as adding an item to the GAW, I'm removing myself from consideration however I would like to add @Beal to our member list since I just found them yesterday who is also a PA resident
