Here is my latest little trip , I have not been in the woods for more then a month due to some problems in life and I really needed this trip , what I need more is an overnight though hope to go soon on that as well.
I don't have access to mountain house any more so I had to find woods next to the city , I was able to find this small woodland , its really small but the good part is there are no people , the bad news is theres a dirt road next to it where on weekends you will be disturbed.
I wanted to cook the steak on my traditional clay pan but me being me I forgot it at home so cooking on coals it is , the bread came out the best I have ever made outdoors and the tea is out of this world (its somekind of mix I got as a gift from russia by my cousin , I can't explain how amazing it is)
the doggo got cold so he had to take the hammock and the sheep hide and the coat as well so I was left cold , lol
rest you can see in video and picture

As simple as it gets , flour , salt , Yeast , water and let it sit for a half hour or until you reach your camp :)
have a nesting pot as I said in the video , put water , put the nesting pot on top with dough , put a lid and let it bake , maybe out a few coals on top near the end to get a bit crunch
    Try it for sure !

Doesn't get much better than a day in the woods with your dog and some good food. Truly impressed by your bread baking skills.

Well then you've learned a lot in a year.

I have tried water baking. My results were not as good as yours, although I never tried plain bread; usually cornbread or something like that. I usually wind up with things kind of soggy at the end. I like your idea of a few coals on top of the outer pot. Will have to try that next time.

I recently bought a Zebra pot, along with a small pot for baking inside. I have baked stuff over an alcohol stove at home, but have yet to use it in the field. I did get good results at home, and it is a dry baking method.

I am looking at buying or making a reflector oven. They seem to get consistently good results.

Although I don't own it personally I have seen some magic done by firebox stove and so many setups it has, one being baking in a zebra pot while haveing it on the side
