Droning on and on about there tarps and twig stoves, alcohol stoves, batoning , bacon, hot tents, knives, cook sets ect ect ,
What a rat race I'm in. I'm working nights and a few guys from this forum who do youtube videos really help me to relax and get to sleep, take my mind off of work ,
I usually just close my eyes and listen and drift to sleep .

I used to read and start to fall asleep, the book would hit the floor or after I set it down my eyes would pop open and I would start thinking,
Certain bushcraft videos and science/ history documentaries really help me to relax

The local public TV station here has a documentary on British trains. Narrated by a guy with a droning kings/posh English accent. It's just like 9th grade English class. Puts me right to sleep.;)

Insomniac here. If I have greater than two sleepless nights in a row I get a bit edgy. I've found playing nature sounds on You Tube work wonders. They go on for hours and hours. I particularly like the snow storms . . .very relaxing.

Whenever I've had a bad day and need to wind down, calm down and sleep I tune into YouTube and click on Mors Kochanski. That old dudes voice calms me and always puts me instantly in a good mood

If I played a video or emusic for sleep I would be wide awake trying to figure out how much data I was using.

You weren’t being snarky, I hope? You meant that tongue-in-cheek? And it would be wrong-headed to come back with something about “there” vs. “their”?

Yes it was meant to be tongue in cheek, I enjoy watching bushcraft videos, not just to fall asleep, Certain layed back style ones just happen to help me relax and take my mind off the daily grind, then sleep happens.

I guess I'm the opposite. I started hanging around on this forum when I started a job where I need to be awake all night. I came here because it helps me to stay awake, engaging the creative side of my mind keeps me awake better than caffeine. There is so much variety in the topics on this site that I never get bored of it, just move to something new. The amount of knowledge here is astounding.

When things are really getting to me I'll keep the lights off and head to my piano. Just improvising, feeling my way through the keys. Some music always comes out.

But, just "normal" sleeplessness, a couple aspirin, some juice, and I'm often able to relax. Lately, I get 2 - 4 nights a week I can't sleep...

You play piano? Dang...that's impressive to me. I've seen it played a few times live and was pretty well impressed. Even saw it played sun at a BLS concert. Not what you'd expect at that sort of concert, but it still was pretty neat. :)
