Thanks, with the 3L bladder included, I decided to order one as well. I'm going to have to replace the one I got eventually, right?
Like I need another pack. o_O

I appreciate your post. I ordered one. People can debate the merits of the old version vs the new version, but at 1/3 the price, this was a no-brainer. Thanks again.

Deal ends tonight. I honestly do not know what the price will be, but I’m guessing closer to double this price.

I’ve never been disappointed with anything Camelbak and they go out of their way to support their products. Some of mine are over 20 years old and still being used.

Thanks @Kona9, I've wanted a Camelbak and this is a great deal, but I need another pack like I need 5 more holes in my head. Thanks for sharing.

That is pretty much the size I'm looking for ATM. Just wish it wasn't black. :(

I get it. The new models of their military/tactical line that seem to replace the BFM and Motherlode are not available in black. I’m thinking black was not as popular as they thought it would be.

The impression I got was these are/were issued to the military and were tested. How they were tested and how well they did I have no idea. The frame sheet has an aluminum stay that I assume will help keep the pack rigid and help transfer the weight to the hip belt. I can let everyone know how it works when I try it out but for now I’m just going by the reviews.

My order arrived today. Haven’t loaded up the pack yet, maybe tonight, but my first impression is positive. I’m not sure why in some reviews they critiques the 500d Ripstop Cordura construction. I can’t imagine a scenario where I would anything more heavy duty. This pack is made extremely well and the frame sheet and stay seem to be very substantial. Right now the only area I’m a bit hesitant on is the thickness in the padding on the should straps. They are not overly padded, but the HPG packs I love have straps that have thin padding. I’ll wait to see how it feels before passing judgement. These are back up to $150 now btw.

I snagged this deal, and I stumbled upon this forum while looking for it and just wanted to say hi! Do you guys recommend any accessories for this bag, and I'm curious but how did you know the length of the deal? I couldn't see any information on their social media, though I could be looking in the wrong place. Stoked to have a new camping bag!

P.S. Does the version currently in stock (Mil Black) have 'Hydrate or Die' on the back like the classics? Silly detail I know, but I'm curious.

P.P.S. Any chance of photos? :D

Random ad in Instagram feed is what informed me about sale timeframe. I don’t believe it has hydrate or die anywhere on the pack. Lastly, it is a big pack. Probably best for bulky, but not too heavy items unless you are very fit and can carry a heavy pack. Easily a 2-3 day pack (or more if all your gear is light/small) if backpacking.

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't necessarily require storage accessories but I was wondering if anyone has grabbed a rain cover or something for it.

Good info. Do you think if I didn't go overboard it could be used as a carry on? The height on it isn't much greater than my travel bag and with the compression straps it seems very versatile.

Sorry, just saw this. Yes you could carry it on if you don’t go crazy filling it.
