This showed up from a trade deal today. The Casstrom Woodsman. Designed by Roger Harringron. It has bog oak handles that are 2000 years older than Christ. Pretty cool if you think about it. It is a looker, It arrived with a nice leather sheath. The fit and finish is about as good as it gets. At 4 mm it's a bit thick for a short blade. But the grind is higher, Personally I like a knife maker that takes the extra step to make sure it's makers mark makes it through the first round of Flitz. Casstrom certainly does a good job there. The marks have some depth. All new knives are cool. But time will tell. So far so good. Just some feathers and I sliced some peppers and onons for dinner. It also had its way with some Spam. Yes, Spam. Hot weather Western Spam Omelettes were on tap for dinner. It is a pretty knife, with good balance, a comfortable grip, hair shaving sharp, and a nice size. I'll keep you all posted. But it feels good in the hand. It is a stout little tyke. Rugged tip, solid build. I almost forgot to mention. It arrived with a Fire steel loop on the sheath and a matching Bog Oak Ferro Rod. Too cool!
