It's been some time since I've slung an arrow. Now that I have a little boy (8 months), I've decided to pick it back up. I figure this way I can tote him around on my back and small game hunt.
Just ordered a 45lb Sage with all the accoutrements.
Excited to get back at it.

Little man's ready to go hunting with dad.

Good to hear the month mark for restringing the bow is 8. I need to get the Sage out and throw some sticks around.

    Man he is getting BIG!
Natalie is a month behind him and she is tall and skinny. Still very little hair on her haha.

Sage is a great choice. I have two and just bought another set of limbs on eBay. They are very accurate bows.

    Just some food for thought.

It's rare, but it can happen and I personally have seen it happen twice. Both times it was a Sammick recurve....

Limb delamination and explosion at full draw. The top limb cracked and swung back , striking the shooter over his right shoulder/ upper back making a large welt and gash.

Something to think about if you planning doing some shooting with your young one on your back.

    Good to know!
More than likely I'll sit the carrier down, then get in position to shoot.
We use a Kelty Pathfinder carrier, that has a kick stand, for lack of better description. When you take it off your back, it automatically deploys the stand, so it's pretty fast, off and on.

Have fun shooting! I used to carry the young one in a kelty pack, had the sun shade thing on it. Never thought about if my limb would blow up on me..I was shooting quality bows.........actually did happen once but that's a long story and didn't happen when carrying the kid......anyways I did this until he reached a weight that I had trouble with effectively drawing the bow back, back tension and all that, switched to a jogging stroller,,,,,,used that a bunch more years.....as he got old enough to have a bow....he would, ride, walk, shoot.....as he wanted....we had good times!......now I can barely get him to shoot any more....teenager other interests....

Well, recieved the bow yesterday. Wasn't a fan. Lots of flaws in the wood, grip felt weird in hand. I probably just got a bad one judging from the reviews. Sending it back and exchanging it for a Galaxy Scorch.
