I came across this class, neat idea & I thought some of you may be interested in seeing it. Some of these community colleges offer unique and interesting classes, I wish I had time to take them!

    Blue Ridge Community College
    The Art of Knifemaking

    ID : 8902

This class will take you from start to finish through the design, grinding, and finishing of your own custom fixed-blade knife. Free-hand flat and hollow grinding will be demonstrated, as well as heat treating and tempering, as participants fabricate a knife blade of their own design. Learn silver-brazing techniques, design bolsters and hand guards for your blade, and discuss handle materials, designs, and decorative file work. Finishing practices will help you complete your own custom knife!

That's really neat, and a pretty damn good price too.

How cool is that! I would take class if they offered it at my local community collage.

Definitely pretty neat, it has me tempted to try to work it into my schedule.
