Couple recent spoons from my local mesquite wood.....

Thanks for all the kind comments....nothing special here. Just a couple of simple tools I made myself (adze, knife, and gouge) and some wood, all scavenged for free.

I know spoons and those are incredibly nice.
In another 78 tries, my spoons might look half that good. Great work.

Central Joe.....little over three and a half years, but lots and lots of chips and failures....here's a comparison shot. The old one was made 3.5 years ago and has been in constant use since....

How is carving mesquite? I would imagine it's got to be tough.

@tristndad....it can be pretty tough, especially since I only work with it dry....learning to work with the grain really helps.
