So first and foremost I never in my life ever imagined paying $22.00 for one pair of socks..or even publicly discussing it.
But Darn it I am glad I am....( see what I did there??)

So this is not a product full review or picture thread... but I will say it in a Few short words.

After using these for about 3 months, hiking, fishing, wading and getting them soaked. I am beyond impressed with the comfort , feel, and quality.

Also come to come to find out they are made in the u.s. with a great warranty. I am not paid, compensated or have any affiliation with this company. But I love these things. Matter of fact I always keep a Clean extra pair in my pickup.

If you want comfort and quality these are the way to go. We often skimp out on the little things. But as far as " outdoor socks " this is the only product I'll be using.

    Thanks!

I've been wearing mine for several years now.
I've thrown away all my other socks, except the few remaining pairs of hand knit wool socks that my grandma made me years ago.

Best socks for the money, the only socks I wear. Yea at $22.00 + a pair it was hard to press the buy button the first time. I have a few different weights and lengths and every pair regardless of weight has the same durability. I keep a reminder on CamelCamelCamel for darn tough socks on Amazon with a price alert set at $17.00 and a couple times a year I get an email that the price has dropped to my $17.00 ... I will then head over to Amazon and buy a couple pairs for back up. Seems the price only drops for a day or so then goes back up so you either have to time the need to the price perfectly or use CamelCamelCamel type of notification.

Used to wear Smart Wool socks but I was going broke replacing them because of holes in the heals after 6 months. 2 years back I switched to Darn Tough. The warranty is great and easy to use. Got nothing in my sock drawer now but Darn Tough.

All these positive comments - both here and other forums - made me order 2 pairs, so I'll find out shortly. Thus far all my 'heavy use' socks have come from Point6, and I've had good luck with those. This will give me something to compare them to.

I have seen videos of them at outdoor trade shows where they just give out replacement pairs to anyone that needs them under warranty. Pretty impressive warranty.

That's a long time to be wearing a pair of socks. Isn't it about time you took them off and washed them? :4:

I bought several pairs of their boot socks and several pairs of the sports quarter socks based on many positive reviews. I balked a little at the price, but...I am replacing all my cheap socks as they wear out with DT socks. They are comfortable, wear very well and don't thin out like cheap socks. I am a convert...

That truly wasn't my intent. :) I hadn't thought about the water walking. :)

As a side note about this, my family wears pretty much nothing but wool socks. My wife often will actually wear a pair when she showers. The shampoo and conditioner she uses gets the socks very clean and soft. When she gets out of the shower, she wrings them out and then hangs them by the woodstove to dry.

She doesn't knit so much anymore but for years we all wore hand knit socks.

I have heard good things about Darn Tough but for now I will stick with my Bear Grylls socks, they absorb and wring out urine better!

I had three pairs for traveling. Traveled a year, wearing them every single day. By the end there were smaller holes in a couple pairs, while one was basically ruined. I emailed the company, and they got me to take pictures of the wear... They agreed to replace them all for free, I didn't even have to pay shipping. They even recommended some harder wearing models for my uses.

They ended up sending me 4 pairs instead of the 3 to replace. I think it's the best service i've had from a company. Ever.

I have several pair and love then all. I find them a little too hot for summer in GA, but I wear them almost exclusively from October to May.

Rotated between 2 pairs Darn Tough socks for the year I was in Afghanistan. Did it just to test them. They held up beautifully. Granted, I wasn't rucking around at all.
